He’s 8 years old already, so he probably only has one shot at this and has to stay sound (big if) . But he jumps beautifully, stays and has tons of class
Grangeclare West 33-1 win
November 23, 2024 at 20:14 #1713846Galopin Des Champs was 3-1 after he won in March so had a bit of that as he’s done ok for me the last twice.
November 24, 2024 at 14:46 #17139195-1 available GDC so switched to that instead each way. Fact To File looks like being a formidable opponent.
November 24, 2024 at 17:01 #1713952Brilliant performances today apart from my underachiever GCW
Leaves me with Monty’s Star but he’ll have to improve a lot to beat that crew.November 24, 2024 at 18:06 #1713955Even allowing for it being his first run of the season, I was a little bit disappointed in Galopin Des Champs, especially after he had the run of the race.
Fact To File won well and I have no doubt he will stay. There is little point in backing him now but I think he deserves to be favourite, given he has beaten GDC and has youth on his side.
November 24, 2024 at 18:26 #1713958It was 2 miles 3, first run back, and he understandably got tired after the last after using plenty of energy up front.

Ahoy Senor 100/1 Paddy Power
He’s not going to be the same horse come March and if he runs the way he did in the
last Gold Cup in 2023, he was unlucky whilst bowling along in front with 5 to go he
knuckled under after clearing the fence well and came down. Saturday’s Chase at Haydock
was a farce, score that out. Lucinda Russell said only a couple of weeks ago that the Gold
Cup was the plan. She thinks he’s good enough to win it (of course they all do), “this is
his year” If he gets to the Gold cup, and he’s being trained for it and his problem,
sidebone has been identified and is getting treated, he wont be 100/1.November 26, 2024 at 20:36 #1714136Can’t believe the reaction to the John durkan. It was a decent run by galopin des champs over 6f shorter than the gold cup. He was third last year then went on to win the gold cup.He will be trained for that race and Willie races his horses and doesn’t wrap them in cotton wool. Over the gold cup distance on good to soft going he is clearly the horse still to beat.imho of course.
November 28, 2024 at 04:55 #1714215Read that Fastorslow was struck into during the Durkin , he’s out to 14s so had to have a tickle at that , if he does run in the KG and wins then that kind of price will be long gone
December 5, 2024 at 15:30 #1714772December 8, 2024 at 10:44 #1714996Agree Mike/Mickey. Some of the GDC reaction has been OTT. Shame about Fastorslow.
Leop will be fascinating if we get must of if not all of them face off. Suspect Galopin would win there, but not sure we’ll get a result like last years.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 10, 2024 at 09:58 #1715165That was just a wow of a run. He was magnificent. Maybe he was just cherry ripe. Hard to replicate that again.
December 26, 2024 at 10:56 #1716328I cannot remember a single winner or placed for that matter of the King George Chase winning the Grand National. So what has this got to do with the Gold Cup? Well if Corbetts Cross can run into a place today on good ground and it comes up soft at Cheltenham he will not be 33/1 for the Gold Cup. The King George has been historically a good gold cup trial and of those entered today I would not fancy any of them more than Corbetts Cross on softish ground in the Gold Cup. A good showing today and the 33/1 with Corals/Ladbrokes will vanish.
December 26, 2024 at 12:42 #1716347I like that bet mate. Really like the horse, and still kicking myself for stupidly deciding that 10’a wasn’t a big enough price for The National Hunt Chase.
Being really strict with myself for Cheltenham Anteposts or I’d be joining you. Was hoping he’d have been withdrawn today, so I could bet him for The Savills, but he looks a goer, and I think he’ll outrun his odds today
Good luck with the bet
December 28, 2024 at 14:48 #1716800GDC’s opportunity for Cheltenham greatness isn’t too far away.
December 28, 2024 at 18:30 #1716882Here’s hoping. He’s a monster at Xmas. I always worry he takes too much out of himself the way he runs but he seems to thrive with racing. Such a beast of a horse. Roll on Cheltenham.
December 28, 2024 at 21:39 #1716900Galopin Des Champs for three Gold cups
