Kauto then Whyso Mayo and i’ll be in positive territory for the week quite nicely..
March 16, 2007 at 15:10 #46589Good luck to everyone especially you Lee.
It doesn’t get any bigger than the Gold Cup.
March 16, 2007 at 15:14 #46590think ill have a fiver each way on turpin green … I like the name.
This will be entertaining anyway. Lets hope Kauto doesnt do a BJK or a well chief.

Still on a fair mark on hurdles form and last 2 runs in chases have suggested his jumping will hold up much better than it would have this time last year. His second to Dempsey at Sandown last time doesn’t look too bad now either.
How the ****
did that bridle pig Andreas find more than Hasty Prince, a horse with form over much further. Baffling.March 16, 2007 at 16:55 #46592
Five races on Friday so far and all five have been won by trainers that had already scored at the meeting.
Mind you, that still leaves quite a few possibles in the last!

March 16, 2007 at 16:58 #46593Because of the jockey riding with supreme confidence IMO DJ although I expected to collect place only as posted on other thread.
As surprised as you but nice to see the horse finally see it out though.

That 6/1 this morning for Thornton to be top jock could be looking generous now.
Definitely looking generous!
March 16, 2007 at 17:09 #46595Not without a chance in the last either son.
March 16, 2007 at 19:10 #46596Unlucky with Hasty Prince DJ.
The one horse you would ideally have wanted against you in a battle would have been Andreas. Or so we would have thought. :o
March 16, 2007 at 20:52 #46598This has been a good thread because the general concensus was that Kauto would win if standing up and that Exotic was the danger. It was also mentioned that State of Play was a false price ( he didn’t run too badly though ) and Turpin Green was a good e/way.
The biggest shock of the day for me was the price that Fair Along ( who only ran 3 days ago ) started for the County hurdle. For this horse to go off at about 3/1 for one of the most competitive hcaps of the season with 28 runners seemed utter madness imo. ÂÂÂ
March 16, 2007 at 21:37 #46602Very good point SC – had completely dismissed him so didn’t pay much attention to the price but 7/2 :o
March 16, 2007 at 21:55 #46603I thought it was 5/2 lol!
Obviously fancied to atone for his running on 2nd in the Arkle but for a little horse like him switching between codes what did they expect?
March 16, 2007 at 21:59 #46605I think another interesting thing about the Gold cup is that everyone on here, me in particular, tried desperately to find a way to get Kauto Star beat, but we knew if it ran to form it would win.
Not quite everyone, Fsl.
I did advise you to do the forecast, @ 5/1 would have been better and cheaper than your ew bet on ED, but did you listen…….?
March 17, 2007 at 08:23 #46609Reet I am sure you looked for a way to get it beat but decided you couldn’t and backed it. Or maybe you didn’t!
Tight forecast too lol. – And my bet on Exotic Dancer was put on a week ago so couldn’t really change it!
