Small anteposts i’ve had to date –

    Supreme – Sebastopol 20/1

    Arkle – Kalashnikov 14/1

    NH Chase – Kilbricken Storm 25/1 & Ballyward 20/1

Ballymore – Commander Of Fleet 16/1

RSA – Santini 16/1 – Half decent stake on this beast.

    Ryanair – Monalee 12/1

Free bet Multiples also of both Kalashnikov & Santini going onto Altior to retain the QMCC

Paloma Blue is an interesting hoss, tempted by the Arkle market with him. Fences could just settle him down.

Good luck Kev, I really like that Sebastopol myself.

    VTC,

Gordon Elliott’s comments on Blow by Blow

“He’s in good form. Arguably his best form is on better ground. He’ll start off over fences sooner rather than later and he might end up being one for the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival”

The bet is off to a good start. What could possibly go wrong?

That’s encouraging news CNC, very encouraging.

Early days of course, and yeah, plenty could go wrong, but I really do think it’s the race for him.

Yep looks like 4 miles round a left handed track will suit him. You must be happy enough with that run today. Big beast isn’t he?

I was very happy with BBB today. I have him in any race at 16’s and 25’s in 4 miler, so today was an encouraging start. Big boat of a thing isn’t he.

Happy enough Grass and Charlie, there’s always the chance he would have met one today, but he really dealt with that well, and very hopeful now.

    Just seen this.

I too am on Blow by Blow at 25s for the NH Chase and any race. He looks desperate for a marathon trip going left handed.

    Good old Ruby.

Footpad has been held up twice now and both times made serious mistakes, despite looking unbeatable when allowed to lead.

They’re trying to make this horse into something he’s not and hopefully they change their minds.

Saint Calvados goes off like a scolded cat don’t think sitting in 2nd was a mistake. He was further back in the Arkle.

Saint Calvados was more restrained today.

Footpad was a big drifter in the market, you’d imagine he needed the run. He made a bad error, I think at the 3rd fence which possibly took more out of him than the pictures telled. I think Ruby had him close enough if good enough on the day, today he wasn’t.

Also, I’ve watched Kalashnikov again and I’m still happy to take him on for the Arkle

However, the low jumping could be in his favour if that head carriage before the fences doesn’t cause problems. Another thing in his favour could be the dearth of decent two mile novices; the staying division is much more competitive

Anyone know epatante’s likely destination? I was quite taken with the performance.

No idea Jasolong- could be neither, she beat a poor bunch! Impressive to the eye though

Yeah was a poor bunch but she hasn’t raced for a year and won a grade 1 bumper. She’s definitely got class and I’ll be very surprised if she doesn’t end up at the festival.

I saw someone mentioned the Triumph Hurdle Trial this weekend – well, I’ve just watched Never Adapt win at Compiegne and I wasn’t that impressed, despite the winning distance; Peace And Co looked much quicker and slicker over his hurdles.

Alan King’s Fret D’Estruval did impress me with his victory at Lyon
