Still there
November 7, 2016 at 03:41 #1271180Took a bit of it last night, was far too big. Pleased to see a few of you caught it as well. For what it’s worth, I think he’s almost certain to go Gold Cup, but definitely worth the risk at that price.
November 7, 2016 at 09:59 #1271206i took the 16s after the down royal race for the Gold cup. I cant see him not going to the Gold cup.
November 7, 2016 at 11:01 #1271226May well be the case sprinter.
But with the owners sponsoring the race. The previous winner out and valseur lido being the runner up last season. I think it’s worth a punt at 25s.
Will be intesting to see hiw he gets on if he goes for the king george or they may wait for leoperdstown. As he was a well beaten 5th before falling in the former last season.
On his previous form he was fully entitled to beat what was put in front of him last time out. But he did it very well.November 7, 2016 at 11:08 #1271227I have Lumped BIG on Gods Own 20/1 Ew for the Ryanair as well as included him in EW ANTE POST L15.
I was really impressed with his Aintree run he stayed on strongly after being blocked at the 3rd last. Hes won two grade 1s. I think this horse is Taylor Made for the Ryanair and worth backing at 20s.
V Lido is also over priced at 25/1. But surely this horse is Gold Cup bound as he needs a trip ans the slight questions marks over Don Cossacks fittness
November 7, 2016 at 12:28 #1271232Agreed with everything you said about gods own I’m already on at 33s win only. my only other bet in ryanair
He seems to have a preference for right handed tracks but he’ll be there abouts come the spring.November 7, 2016 at 14:39 #1271247Hi Guys New Poster here.
I’ve always been a reader rather than a writer and enjoy reading peoples opinions on here. Thought I mite get involved a little. Although I love horse racing I would’t consider myself to have anywhere near the knowledge that some people on here possess so bare with me.
I was gutted to hear the news about Vautour’s untimely death yesterday he was a favourite of mine and I backed him for each of his festival wins. I was wondering if anyone though Mullins may consider Vroum Vroum Mag as a gold cup horse? She has been mooted as the Mullins and Ricci supersub in places and I have noticed her price contact a little with various bookmakers. she’s available at 25-1 with skybet and I thought it might be worth a few speculative pounds e/w as my 2nd chioice in the race as I’m a huge Thistlecrack fan and had a little at 20’s and 10’s at the end of last season.
Be intrested to know peoples views.
November 7, 2016 at 14:47 #1271248Welcome to TRF Tone.
I’m a massive fan of Vroum Vroum Mag, and reckon she’s the most underrated horses in training. For a horse like her to be able to use her 7 lb allowances in the G1’s is a real bonus.
I wouldn’t put you off her for The Gold at all, and I reckon she could land any of the big ones. They certainly considered her to be their “supersub”, but afters yesterdays sad news, that might just change things. I’m a little bit cynical, and believe that the stable know exactly who’s going where, even now, but again, yesterday really was a hammer blow and might just have changed things.
I’ve bet her for The Champion Hurdle, and think she’d go close in The King George, but as I said, she could head anywhere, and if you can guess her target, there’s a good chance you’ll get a nice price.
Good luck with her
November 7, 2016 at 14:51 #1271251Hi tone.
I would personally be of the opinion that vroum vroum mag will likely end up in the Mares hurdle.
But I wouldn’t put you off her in the gold cup as she is a sound jumper over fences and would have the ability if they chose to go down that route. Also intesting to note that she does have an entry in the king george. Although mullins does block enter them.
November 7, 2016 at 15:43 #1271263True Rocky but they are big game hunters and the Gold cup is the main prize. I can him ending up as their main Gold cup horse. Its very difficult to know how Don Cossack will be, and even trying to win it off 1 run will be very difficult.
25s agreed is big price for the Ryanair, but I believe that is because he is a very unlikely runner.
November 19, 2016 at 04:47 #1273282November 20, 2016 at 10:22 #1273536A horse that really caught the eye last season was Blow by Blow, his defeat of ‘Moon racer’ on only his 4th start reads well, trouble is all his 4 runs have been over 2m and this fellow looks a stayer in the making to me.The Pipe horse is 7/1 fav for ‘The Supreme’ and yet his Punchestowns conqueror trades at 3 times the price,of course ‘Blow by Blow’ is quoted for the ‘Neptune’ too at 25/1 and also the ‘Albert Bartlett’ at 12/1.From his gritty style of running the latter race looks perfect for this very stoutly bred gelding who’s related to ‘Sir des champs’ and ‘Royal Athlete’ and if I was forced to choose a target it would be the 3m Novice race. What I have noticed though is,in the Betfair Sportsbook market for ‘Win any race at Cheltenham’ they are offering a very generous 10/1 about this fellow and I have duly obliged.
November 20, 2016 at 14:32 #1273568A toi phil 25/1 rsa.
The best staying novice chase performance iv seen this season so far (2 mile 6).
Stayed on stoutly llti out distance between him and the field at the last. I rate the form, with nambour setting a stoute pace and previously beating free expression who is a very fair yardstick Imo.
Atoi phil may have a liking for soft ground but I’d far rather take a punt on him than alpha des obeaux.November 22, 2016 at 21:39 #1273863Thank you Charlie, I have bet him at up to 20’s for The Champion and bigger odds for The World Hurdle. I would favour The Champion for him just now, but Mullins has so many for that that they might decide to step him up in trip, and I think he is better than Nicols Canyon and it looks like chasing for Bellshill. It is a total guessing game hence just stick with the one horse I like the most from the yard and leave the rest of them alone till the day when there is no confusion over who goes where. I just hope now that he doesn’t see a fence.
Yorkhill might just see a fence after all. As well as an entry in the Hattons Grace Hurdle, he also has an entry in The Drinmore Novice Chase. Both of these races are the 4th of December. I hope it’s hurdles from now on for him, but we will soon see. I look forward to his reappearance, and the continual Willie Mullins guessing game.
November 26, 2016 at 12:52 #1274313Just gone back in on BATTLEFORD at 12/1 to win any race.
Is in tomorrow against 2 unexposed giggingstown horses over 2 miles, I wouldn’t be backing him tomorrow at a short price but I think 12s any race offers a bit of value.
November 27, 2016 at 12:08 #1274482I took the 10’s Rocky, one of my favourites from last year, and just a few quid on, so I won’t bother topping up with the 12’s, but good luck (obviously haha), it’s a great price for this horse, with so many options for him.
November 27, 2016 at 12:19 #1274483Battleford diddnt run with his usual zest and wasn’t travelling from a long way out. I’d be very suprised if that’s his true running. But I’ll reserve judgement until it’s next start.
