I have lumped on a ante post lucky 63
ARKLE- ALTIOR 5/1
CH- ANNIE POWER 3/1
JLT- YORK HILL 6/1
RYAN AIR- BLACK HURCLES 8/1
WH- FAUGHEEN 4/1
GC- THISTlE CRACK 7/1It’s very likely some won’t make it due to injury or they run in a different race. But if these horses line up for these races they will have the bookies running for cover. The bookies won’t make the same mistake as last year, they took a hammering and in my eyes they will take no Chances and will be to short to back on the day.
Once ALTIOR and thistle crack show that they can jump a fence the bookies will slash there odds by at least half.
If you fancy any big names, I think it’s defiantly worth the risk to back them now before they race at reasoanable prices. HAPPY PUNTING
September 19, 2016 at 14:03 #1264062Good luck atthepost. I’ve got a fraction on Ante-Post, from what I used to, but do have a couple of lines tucked away
September 20, 2016 at 07:52 #1264107Altior arkle 4/1 tried to get 5s but accounts restricted. Had to take 4s
Death duty Albert bartlett 25/1
I rate him highly, solid form with blow by blow sunni may and first figaro.
Won his pt to pt over 3 miles nicely and crying out for a trip Imo.September 21, 2016 at 17:01 #1264202Hope Moon Racer gets off to a good start for you tomorrow Rocky
September 21, 2016 at 21:33 #1264229Thanks vtc, at the time of placing the bet I diddnt expect them both to be declared as that’s an outrageous match up for this time of year.
Genuinely excited for tomorrow’s race
September 22, 2016 at 20:41 #1264343Decided to back Apple’s Jade for the Champion Hurdle, at 10s with Ladbrokes. Yes, I’m fully aware that no 5yo mare has won the Champion Hurdle; equally, I’m fully aware that no 4yo mare had demolished her field by 41 lengths on the bridle at Aintree…. until Apple’s Jade came along.
The Liverpool race was discussed at length at the time and the general opinion was that she was flattered; however, the others can’t all have run below form and, even if they were just 130-rated horses, then she’s run to 170 with a massive plus. Her subsequent stroll at Punchestown merely served to illustrate that Aintree wasn’t a fluke and her defeat in the Triumph Hurdle can be attributed to Mullins, by his own admission, leaving her a bit short.
Obviously, her main rivals also reside at Closutton and she could be rerouted to the Mares’ Hurdle but if (as I suspect) she trounces all comers in her trial races this winter, she’ll have to go for the big one and that 10-1 is going to look very big indeed.
September 23, 2016 at 14:57 #1264422Good luck Gladiateur
Whatever your stance on her, there’s no denying she looked very good indeed, and I’d be surprised, given her owners, that she didn’t go for The Champion.
September 23, 2016 at 16:24 #1264438Thanks, VTC. I’ve watched the Aintree race several times and can’t find any excuses for the others- she simply destroyed them. I’ve not seen anything like it in the 36 years that I’ve been watching the game (yes, I remember your namesake!) and if she can repeat that form she’ll take a world of beating.
I’ve also done an ante post Lucky 15 with Buveur d’Air (Arkle), Apple’s Jade (Champion), Alpha Des Obeaux (RSA) and Thistlecrack (Gold Cup). You never know…
September 24, 2016 at 13:46 #1264618Yeah, it seems longer and longer ago that old VtC used to run, 33 years since he ran in The National ……..I must add that I was a young lad then
I don’t think there were any excuses, and it was a great run from her, and fingers crossed for this season. I doubt any AP bets of mine will go her way, too short for me, but looking forward to her anyway.
I hope you get some fun from that Lucky 15 as well
September 25, 2016 at 21:26 #1264819Ptit Zig @ 20/1 in the World Hurdle.
Loads of horses ahead of this in the market likely to run elsewhere. Didn’t take to fences so its back to hurdling. Won over 3m1f at Auteuil and has some really impressive hurdle form.
September 26, 2016 at 11:49 #1264840Charlie, I’m totally with you on Ptit Zig, and I think the 20’s will look big in a couple of months time.
Without having been a world beater over hurdles, he still has, as you mention, plenty of decent form which would encourage backers. His recent win at Auteuil was very impressive, and this was coming off the back of another win at Sandown. Due to run again at Auteuil before tackling the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, I think he’ll be near the head of the market by then. Nicholls knows what it takes to win The World hurdle with a chaser who had jumping problems, and though this approach didn’t work with Saphir Du Rheu, I think Zig could be the answer.
With plenty of question marks over the targets of others ahead of him in the market, I’m happy to have him on side, even at this early stage.
i don’t like betting under 50’s at this stage Ante-Post, but I’ve made an exception with him, taking 40’s to 42’s, and added him to a multi at 20’s.
September 26, 2016 at 14:06 #1264860Glad you agree Venture to Cognac – will be interesting to see how runs in Auteuil and the Long Walk Hurdle affect the price.
September 26, 2016 at 14:35 #1264862Hopefully the price will be coming down Charlie, after a couple of solid runs.
I’m very surprised that he doesn’t feature in more firms lists. I added him to the exchange market at the start of the month, and there’s always a good chance Stan James will price up once a horse appears on that market, while I have him in Multis with Bet365 & Hills, hence they’ve introduced him as well. That leaves Corals as the only other firm to have priced him up…….I’d really like to see him quoted by other firms, as I’m not sure what they’re missing, as he seems an obvious big player to me.
Hopefully we’re on the right track with him.
The other horse I like is Bellshill, who looked a different horse for the step up in trip last year. He could go a number of routes though, and given connections, he doesn’t make as much appeal at this stage, at around the same price as Zig, and I’d be happy to take half the price later on if he appeared to be going World Hurdle route.
September 27, 2016 at 07:18 #1264900I have only just watched Zig win in Auteuil and am even more puzzled as to why this is 20/1 and very happy i have that price. Pushed from 2 out 20 lengths off the pace and showed a real staying ability.
September 27, 2016 at 13:02 #1264923My Altior for Champion hurdle in bin it look like Yorkhill for arkle heading same direction as big as 8/1 for arkle.
At least INVATATION ONLY wins neptune for me knowing my luck be odds on fav go for Albert Barltlett instead.
Good luck Charlie with bet in World hurdle i had Thistlecrack at 25s last year sadly i can’t see any horses that intrest in market yet.
September 27, 2016 at 15:11 #1264925My Altior for Champion hurdle in bin
Fish it out! He might not take to fences…
September 27, 2016 at 15:20 #1264926Only 363 days or so to go to the festival again so any ante post bets my 3 so far are below
ALPHA DES OBEAUX 8/1 RSA Chase
With no Thistlecrack to contend with here i think this world hurdle runner up can take RSA glory he proven on all types of ground as well and his built for chasing noting in Albert bartlett stood out as a top 3m chaser and for me he can win RSA
Alpha entered in a beginners chase at Tipperary on Sunday
