    I stuck Rosallion in treble.
Will have a small play on Simply Astounding before she runs today for a another set of trebles/lucky15

Simply Astounding might get turned over today. Lady Iman has been impressive both starts and is being backed off the boards this morning.

I’m surprised that connections are stepping Lady Iman up to six furlongs – I thought they were targeting the Queen Mary – but it should be a cracking race this afternoon. I wouldn’t totally write off Joseph’s filly, either.

True but if Simply Astounding beats her the bookies are bound to be a sea of blue.. I’m only playing with small stakes from the Chinese lad winning the snooker so nothing to really lose

I think the Norfolk is the wrong race after watching that.

Not sure he was mad about the fastish ground. Such a beast maybe he needs a bit of give

Sarah Lynham told TG4 that Simply Astounding may not have liked the Naas undulations – maybe that’s why CD didn’t look particularly enthusiastic.

Aidan again very positive about The Lion in Winter :good:

I wouldn’t be overly concerned about Darwin Nunez… Aidan had 3 odds on shots turned over today so maybe the yard has hit a dip in form
Charles Darwin was quickly away and compare his run to that of his debut he is much more professional. I wonder if Ryan has let the other horse get in front of him deliberately to half force a duel as we hear Aidan likes his two year olds to learn something new. Fairy Godmother springs to mind last year. Darwin pulled readily clear by the end. Ascot is a stiff course so 5f with a decent pace, I wouldn’t say is not his race but also I could see something may be too quick for him at the same time.
Interestingly Blackbeard ran in the Coventry but had less runs than Charles Darwin at this stage and Little Big Bear took in the Windsor Castle.

“Albert Einstein might run next weekend and we always thought he could be a Coventry horse, we thought this could be a Norfolk horse (Charles Darwin) but he needed to learn. He was green and babyish and he has to be just caught hold of today. That’s why we were here with him and we’re delighted.”

The runner up might prove to be better than the odds suggested today, still looks like all systems go although Simply Astounding was well beat. Was there any news on her? Ryan was very easy on her once the bird had flown

Ryan was lucky the stable companion moved out the way for him
Albert Einstein was cruising in behind

    On RTV’s website:

“‘He’s (Albert Einstein) probably as fast a horse as we’ve seen work,’ said O’Brien. ‘We always thought he was very special…he’s just a very, very fast horse.'”

Yawn. Until an even faster 2yo comes along next year.

Listen, O’Brien is polite and generous with his time. But he is a salesman. Everything he says should be taken with a gigantic pinch of salt.

Camille Pissarro winning yesterday sort of encourages the thought of Albert Einstein (same sire) may turn into a guineas horse. The Coventry is normally won by horses that get further, Albert hasn’t won yet, I know.. :rose:

Gr.3 Marble Hill Stakes winner Albert Einstein unfortunately will not run at Royal Ascot due to a sprained joint. He will have an easy three weeks.

I wander will Charles Darwin be rerouted to the Coventry now. I’d fancy him a lot more in that vs the Nunthorpe.

I heard comments on Luck on Sunday by one of the guests that theres more of a pressure to get 2 year olds to RA now .
It does seem to be from what ive seen , including big money buys . Some these big buys gone on to not a lot , out of interest I will have look sometime from fields few years back see progress of these also rans .
Back in day iam sure it was Woodcote the first 6F race of season for 2 year olds and seemed slower progress .
In OZ some nice horses burnt out trying for 2 yo riches , imho waste of some good horses and not the way to go.

Its a possibility, a fast 5f with the stiff finish would also suit though.. I’d be tempted to play but have already backed a non runner and would’t guess past 50/50 where Charles Darwin would go now
