This time of year always sees an upsurge in new members and threads. It’s something to do with the adrenaline of the upcoming Cheltenham Festival I presume. More members means more opinions which means more threads. Most forums/fora? would kill for the frequency of posts which occur on this one.
Having said that, a quick perousal of all the threads on page 1, there’s not all that many that you would say don’t belong on the forum. The only ones I can see is that there are 2 threads bemoaning the RacingUK footage being shown at the moment. Ideally this should have been kept to the one thread.
The main problem with too many threads (if indeed it can be described a problem) is that members that don’t visit the site daily don’t usually see them and so we are robbed of their insight to a large extent.
Anyway, wait for the flat season – we’ll all be thirsting for new threads!
February 21, 2008 at 09:36 #145243Just to sign off, I may aswell try and kick off with a winner, so I’ll be backing Hold Em tomorrow in the 3.25 at Huntingdon. I know the trainer thinks a lot of this horse and for me ran well in defeat to a promising type last time out and certainly the type to give you a good run for your money.
I’d concur with all of that – Hold Em has helped me out professionally and personally on several occasions this season. He’s done pretty well for a horse that’s been on the go since contesting some fairly innocuous-looking bumpers last summer, I reckon. I don’t think he can afford to run as keenly against today’s good opposition as he has done on some occasions, but as long as he settles he’ll do for me again.

Or having a very long snooze.
February 21, 2008 at 10:01 #145254Theres another similar forum which has a habit of disappearing up its own arse with posters going on about their posting and trying to project themselves as "characters"
Is it too much to ask for that not to happen here?
