There is no way Enable will go for this after such a hard race in the Arc. Out on her feet in the final furlong. If Enable races again it will be next year… A second opportunity for a third Arc? Would not surprise me at all.

I was hoping Magical would get an easier time of it in the Arc, but Master O’Brien rode a poor race. Too fast too soon. That said, she’s one of the toughest and if anyone can recover in time… she can.

Why would you want to end Enable’s career in shame Potato? She has been an asset to racing throughout her career and has nothing more prove  It would take more than a beating by Benbatl to lower her colours, she has already written her name in racing history…Benbatl although talented has not…and anyway it’s not happening. :bye:

Yeah going cool on the idea this morning. I just can’t see whose going to win that, unless something from this weekend does turn up. If not it’s looking Group2 at best!

    Nothing ever set in stone
Do think she won’t run too but if it ever stops raining lol and the horse is bouncing would never surprise me if they did a U turn.
Haven’t seen Gosden with his party hat on yet with cake on the table and playing with a balloon, with a happy retirement Enable ribbon on his shoulder.
Has she officially finished or does the horse hold an entry.??

I think your getting confused. I said Benbatl would end her career in shame if they met over 10f at Ascot which they wont. Thats my racing opinion whats being an asset to racing got to do with anything.
Enable was an amazing mare who was lucky to win 2 arcs. The first one she deserved and was brilliant, the 2nd one she got lucky and the 3rd one justice was served amd she got beat by a better horse. Just because the media refuse to say it as it is doesnt mean I follow suit.

I thought she ran a cracker to get 2nd in her 3rd arc. Should be credited with a great performance for getting 2nd but it is not fair or right that people say she was unlucky as that is disrespecting the rightful champion and easy winner Waldgeist.

 ‘The Beast would end Enables career in shame as she would take the beating of her life’.

I knew you were talking about the QE11 Potato but it still reads the same to me and predicting the outcome of a race that will never happen I thought you were doing Enable a disservice.

Why didn’t you end your post with those nice words about Enable that you have just posted to balance your opinion?..
anyway as you rightly say wrong to say Enable was unlucky not to win her 3rd Arc she was beaten fair and square by the best horse on tbe day, Waldgeist was very impressive. :good: Jac

Anyone heard any latest news on Elarqam? If this race cuts up as much as it appears it will, 16/1 is a big price on what he’s achieved this year. He could even go off favourite. He disappointed in Ireland but that’s twice now he’s run poorly when travelled, so it could easily be a decent excuse.

Have had a little go on adeyybb at 10/1

Will love the ground and hopefully something will set a decent gallop for him to aim at

I’m banking on most of the horses at the top of the betting not turning up so just a small stake and will maybe add another closer to the race

The one who immediately looks the wrong price is Regal Reality irrespective of whether the beaten Arc horses show up but I did read somewhere that this was a target but they wouldn’t run him on soft and that is almost certainly playing a part in him being 40/1 with Betfair/Paddy Power. Probably one to monitor once we have a clearer picture of weather forecasts that week.

I was looking at Regal Reality, but ground is very likely to be Soft, looking at the forecast there’s enough rain about to keep it Soft as it was on Saturday. 6 of the last 9 have been run on Soft or Heavy, 1 on GS and just 2 on Good. Got to be a decent chance he won’t even run as he looks a totally different horse on softer ground.

The two I have my eye on now are Elarqam at 16s, as mentioned yesterday and now Circus Maximus at 12s. No bet just yet, but very close to risking that they run.

If AOB decides that Japan and Magical don’t have time to recover and/or had too hard a race, then Circus Maximus seems the logical choice to run here. Anthony VD is going straight to the breeders cup, I think he already mentioned somewhere and they have Magna Grecia being targeted for the QEII.

Addeybb has to also enter considerations, but he was giving Elarqam 3lbs at Ascot earlier this season and Elarqam has improved since. Although Addeybb is a decent horse, I would go as far as to say if he wins the Champion Stakes, it would damage the whole concept and bring into question the timing of the day on the calendar again etc, because horses like him should not be winning Champion Stakes.

Personally thought elarqam was massively flattered by his proximity in the juddmonte (they all finished in a heap) and by his winning distance in the york stakes

Elarqam got a dream run that day and adeyybb met trouble and was held up in what looked a pretty muddling race

Give adeyybb a proper gallop like in the hungerford and I’d expect him to beat elarqam again even off level weights

But at this stage we are all just guessing as we have no idea what will turn up

No guarantee of that though, but you could be right, if there was a proper pace then maybe Addeybb would win but if it was mid/slow pace then Elarqam would win.

Maybe they’re both just not good enough! Connections of Elarqam seemed really deflated after the Irish Champions actually, they were talking about maybe stepping him up at one point so I’m not sure he’s not done for the season anyway.

Interesting pace maker theory Kev put on the Arc thread about Magical.

If that’s true then Magical could recover for this and would be a stand out potentially in this field.

I’m going to stay loyal to Regal Reality here at 40-1 each way.

He maybe isn’t one of the standout entries here for most, but I have been happy with him this season, and I think that is too big a price.

Just seen an article on the timeform app saying the track is a complete bog, so that might explain the support for addeybb

Course heavy/waterlogged in places – based on forecast, most likely that they move the races on the round course to the inner track (hurdles course), which believe it or not is good to soft (soft in places) even after the course has had over 5″ of rain since 21st September.

Apparently said inner course hasn’t actually been watered at all through the summer, which just goes to show you exactly how much impact artificial watering can have on ground conditions.
