She did not clout the last. She jumped it too big and to her left and landed awkwardly. She did well to recover and win.

I’m amazed anyone is enthused with that performance. Petit is a lovely horse but the third?

She doesn’t look like one to battle up the hill either. And jumping will have to be miles better

    A real place lay

Everyones being a bit harsh..it was her first go going left handed for a while, at a shorter trip and not having her ground and shes done what all the other favourites seem to have done so far and thats beating a (very good this year petit mouchoir)
The stiff finish at cheltenham with good/soft ground will see her come on for the run no doubt! Id say she comes here and not the mares aswell

I agree with you Ray. I hope she takes her chance in the Champion Hurdle, she’s got a good shot.

Horses tend to like one way or another and some more markedly so of course. I wouldn’t back her to get used to left handed if that’s seen as the issue

Running here doesn’t mean they are frightened of Benie though does it? She’s just won a Irish Champion on her first drop back to 2miles in over a year.

Funny i’d do the same but with Altior. His jumping of a fence has become so safe i think over hurdles he’d actually do better at this stage. Easier race to.

If you were given a choice to run against benie or run here at this stage how this race looks, youd choose this race, doesnt mean there frightened of benie, its just easier atm, melons a certainty to come back to hurdles at some point as is bapaume, laurina, thomas derby and a few others, something might step forward but until then this is most certainly easier than facing benie

Melon was hammered at this meeting over hurdles the last two years. While he’s thrown in a bad one or two on his first two runs as well, i’d say he’ll run better at Cheltenham.

Bapaume for me, didn’t enjoy the change of tactics, but i can see why they did it as Cash Back was always going to go from the front.

Laurina has issues more serious than the obstacles in her way i think sadly.

Big move for Benie Des Dieux today. She’s probably the most talented horse in the race but she’ll surely need soft ground to be even remotely involved over the minimum trip.

I don’t think that there’s that much of a chance if I’m being honest, but it hasn’t stopped me from taking the 14/1. I’m happy to take the risk.

Cilaos emery declared in the red mills hurdle at gowran

His grade 1 novice hurdle win over melon reads well in the context of this race, wonder if they will consider supplementing him if he runs and wins

FF, just seen that and its a fair shout, i thought thomas derby and melon would come back but it looks like its cilaos,

Hed be good enough to win this

Why on earth is pentland hill still 5/1 lol, that is an absolute joke of a price, unbelievable actually, he will be lucky to get round

The race is so terrible I had a couple of quid on supasundae at 25/1 last week

Just cant have any of them as champion hurdle winners

Cilaos has very little chance in the champion chase, a race with 3 top class horses, so makes sense to give him a go over hurdles

I wouldn’t have been shocked to seen him go close in it if it wasn’t off the back of a fall like last time. So little experience for chasing against the likes of Altior.
Ryanair also might be a shout.
