Love the two of them, would love to watch the race,…. wouldnt be surprised if altior beat him as there both class…. douvans a better jumper than altior though
Hopefully neither miss it /step up
March 24, 2017 at 14:22 #1293937In assessing Douvan, it’s best to draw a line through his last run; it was obviously way below form for whatever reason. The big doubt is whether he comes back from the injury.
March 24, 2017 at 19:30 #1293972Altior is the bet at the moment (if inclined to bet this far in advance), barring injury this is his race that he’ll be running in surely. Douvan needs to recover and Willie ‘won’t he’ Mullins will have him entered up for a multitude of festival races. If Altior continues to win his races and improves Mullins could take up an easier option in the Ryanair (UDS dependant) He’d turn around on the Wednesday morning and say something along the lines of Douvan isn’t sparkling or something or other.

April 29, 2017 at 23:47 #1298937Incredible performance, I can’t remember any horse that could accelerate like that when given an inch.
October 30, 2017 at 16:05 #1324165Rumour that Douvan has had a setback
Altior odds on in places and money for MinBlackbeard to conquer the World
October 30, 2017 at 16:14 #1324168Nothing much layed on Douvan though a quid at 32 and that’s it

October 30, 2017 at 16:52 #1324175Willie Mullins and Rich Ricci racing manager have both come out to deny the rumours and say the horse is fine
October 30, 2017 at 17:20 #1324178That’s good news KSS

Good news for the sport
Douvan v Altior could be the best head to head since Kauto and Denman
October 30, 2017 at 18:30 #1324187Yes, I’ve been chipping away on Altior since before he won the Arkle but don’t wish any bad news on any of the others.

October 30, 2017 at 21:45 #1324221Altior for me. I’ve never seen a horse devour hills like he does. He could put in a performance this season which equals Sprinter Sacre
November 10, 2017 at 01:59 #1326035American Tom is entered in a 2m chase at Naas tomorrow after a long time off the track. It was no secret how highly both Mullins and Ricci thought of this horse before he suffered a setback ruling him out for the season. Apparently he’s a had wind op (can anybody confirm?), if so it should be interesting to see how he gets on. Although probably not good enough for this contest, especially with Min and Douvan for the same connections, he could be a left field chance for the Ryanair. Although if he wins impressively on Saturday, bookies will run in terror from the Mullins/Ricci combo eliminating any perceived value.
November 10, 2017 at 07:11 #1326039Surprised to see no one mentioning Great Field for this.
The odd dodgy jump aside, this lad looks the real deal to me.Gone under the radar after being mightily impressive in Ireland last season.
Possibly could go for the Ryanair if Mullins gets up to his usual tricks so got Hills to add him to the “Win any race” market a couple of weeks back (took the 10s they offered, which they immediately clipped to 8’s).
Obviously Altior looks hard to beat, but as he is already odds on and question marks over Min and Douvan,I’m hopeful.
November 15, 2017 at 19:25 #1326860Altior out for the first half of the season now, unlimely to get a prep before cheltenham apparantly! If he makes it now that is
