Sadly, despite great efforts to save old Cavalryman, reports are filtering through that he has been PTS.
Terrible news for a real staying star. It was remarkable how Cavalryman kept getting better with age despite taking in so many international races. RIP
February 28, 2015 at 21:21 #769552I was hoping so much that they’d save him. I absolutely loved that horse.
February 28, 2015 at 23:14 #770595Can’t believe I won’t be seeing him at Newmarket anymore,he was the most beautiful horse and always ran his heart out in every race. I will now have to treasure the memory of when I last saw him beating Hilstar by a neck last July at Newmarket.
RIP Cavalryman old friend you will always be remembered with love and great affection.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 28, 2015 at 23:40 #770740Sometimes I just can’t get my head around the fact that something like this has happened. I know he’s not ‘that’ old, but he seems to have been part of my racing life forever. He was so, so beautiful.
March 1, 2015 at 09:14 #774564I still had hope while it wasn’t confirmed. Absolutely heartbreaking. Some horses are just special, above the crowd and Cavalryman was one of them. A dark day.
March 1, 2015 at 11:34 #775311Sadly confirmed via RP article. Condolences to his connections on losing such a grand old stalwart. RIP.
March 1, 2015 at 15:30 #777236Dreadful news. Loved him to bits
March 2, 2015 at 00:49 #779326So sad!!!!! He was very genuine and consistent and still a high class performer. I’m quite sure that he received the best medical treatment available. Too bad that horses are too fragile.
Rest in Peace Cavalryman! - AuthorPosts
