He is on a general ward at South Wing Hospital according to his daughter
It looks as if visits are not allowed…taken from reviews of the South Wing.
“What I dont understand is why it can’t introduce a limited and staggered visiting regime incorporating the 90 minute test so only people who test negative are allowed to visit still with ppe and time limits applying. Everyone knows the adverse effects that covid19 and restrictions are having on peoples physical and mental health and having visits is a basic human need. We cannot just rely on having a vaccine and we have to live with covid19 and constantly review risks, but if the scientific technology is available for accurate test results it should should be used in an attempt to normalise any and all aspects of daily life including using the NHS.”
February 4, 2021 at 19:36 #1521319What causes pneumonia? (Yorkshire Post )
The NHS states that pneumonia is usually a result of bacterial infection but symptoms can also be brought on in other ways.
These include viral pneumonia, caused by a virus such as Covid-19, aspiration pneumonia (breathing in harmful substance), fungal pneumonia (rare in the UK) and hospital-acquired pneumonia.
February 4, 2021 at 20:08 #1521323He returned from holiday Jan 12th
According to reports he was treated in Bedford Hosp
From Jan 12th – Jan 22in for PneumoniaTested negative on 12th
Positive on 22nd
My inference is he was treated on a general ward ( as he returned to a general ward) with hospital rules of no visitors allowed. On testing positive he was sent home as his condition presumably was not a cause for concern. This was a family / hosp decision I would expect.
He returned 9 days later at the end of Jan suffering breathing difficulties.
I have come to a conclusion about whether he was suffering from Covid induced pneumonia ie viral or not. Also how and where he caught covid and any blame attached.
Out of respect to the family and friends of Sir Tom and at a sensitive time – I keep those conclusions to myself.
February 6, 2021 at 09:50 #1521548Interesting admission from Bedford Hospital (although, in fairness I think it applies to most hospitals)

February 6, 2021 at 11:14 #1521579‘The cult of Captain Tom is a cult of White British Nationalism’
The above is a quote printed in a national newspaper today, not from the paper or columnist I must stress.
It is reported to come from a twitter feed of a Church of England priest, the tweet has since been deleted it says.
It’s credited to Rev Jarel Robinson-Brown who went on ‘I will offer prayers for the repose of this kind and generous soul but I will not be joining in the national clap'(for him)
The same article reports he’s previously attacked various government ministers as ‘Oppressors’ and the CoE wonders why it’s losing people?February 6, 2021 at 13:17 #1521613Did he catch Bacterial Pneumonia from wearing a mask? Quite possibly as bacteria thrives in a warm and moist environment so having a piece of cloth over a warm moist area long term regularly is highly dangerous. You would struggle to get more perfect conditions for breeding bacteria than a piece of cloth over your nose and mouth. I’m not a medic though so have no way of saying for certain Tom died of bacterial pneumonia. It’s not relevant that he tested positive for Covid as the test is worthless as the Portuguese high court proved and even the inventor of the test clarified without doubt.
Sir Toms family have financial links to just giving and personally made money out of him.
He shouldn’t have been going on holiday in the middle of a pandemic. If we shouldn’t then neither should he and his family regardless of what he did for charity.
Cliff Richard and Russ Abbot are not in his bubble so why were they so close in that photo? More recklessness.
His family were allowed To visit in the hospital whilst he died where as families up and down the country have had to leave loved ones to die alone. Why did he get special treatment. It’s meant to be about controlling a pandemic and should have nothing to do what you have done for charity.
Was he a 33rd degree mason? Who knows. All I know is he raised 33 million for charity and died on the 33rd day of the year.A terrible example from him and his family as to how to act in a pandemic but RIP old chap and he will be remembered a hero.
If I swan off to Barbados and don’t practice social distancing with people outside my bubble, then take up a hospital bed and my family bust into the hospital and don’t respect the rules and I die it will be labelled as my fault and that I deserved to die but I guess that is how the cookie crumbles and I have never raised 33 million for charity.

February 7, 2021 at 11:31 #1521889Robbo, spreading myths about covid is dangerous, not masks!!!!!
Worn properly the only thing that hits the inside of a mask is the person’s own breath.
In fact according to Preventitive Medical Journal Wearing a mask actually helps ward against catching bacterial pneumonia,Value Is EverythingFebruary 7, 2021 at 11:53 #1521904February 7, 2021 at 13:42 #1521943Idiots?
