Greek Order wasn’t odds-on though.
I’d just remind you:
To be worth a bet @ 5/2 a horse only needs to be thought to have better than 29% chance of winning… Not 51%.You could believe Greek Order had less than a 1 in 3 chance and it still be worth betting.
So – given Greek Order was a little unlucky – it could be said those who backed him @ 5/2 would be justified in saying they were right to do so.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 30, 2023 at 17:17 #1665042Well done Rob. No doubt the second had a troubled run but given Astro King was giving 15 lb to him he deserves a hell of a lot of credit for the run.

Well deserved win from a much hyped favourite in Greek Order. Lovely horse but far too short a price.Pleased with Bopedro 16’s running on for 3rd at the finish he definitely got the extra furlong.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 1, 2023 at 12:50 #1665132Agree with Ginger. I don’t think Greek Order was too short. I took 5.2 on Betfair on Friday night and I still think that was a fair price.
He was only just beaten by the horse which the handicapper thought was the best horse in the race and he might possibly have won if he had got a run just a fraction earlier.
I have little doubt he was still the Group horse in the handicap.
