Poor old Danny Cook has the opportunity to restore his reputation big style today by riding two 50/1 winners for C.Nenadich(who?) at Ludlow. Breadstick in the 3.40 seems appropriate considering Mr.Pipe has probably had him on bread and water since his faux pas on Friday, and Scalinis in the 4.15. By all accounts both horses will be equipped with sat navs, course layout documents and distress flares.
Good on him for not letting the grass grow under his feet and hopefully he can eventually find his niche in life, possibly with a less high profile stable.April 25, 2010 at 12:50 #292399Mr Nenadich, trains from his backyard out at Sutton St Nicholas
Pest controller by day! Anyway Ken, Nick the part owner has got a lot of cash so just wait for that 80/1 to tumble
April 26, 2010 at 12:47 #292581Sadly Danny Cook was still nursing the injury he picked up when Gaspara decanted him on the way to post on Friday evening, so Tommy Phelan had to deputise yesterday.
He is jocked up on Breadstick again later in the week, though, should Chris Nenadich choose to turn that one out again quickly, so this is not a terminal disassociation of the rider by the permit-holder.
Far from it – Chris has been fulsome in his gratitude previously to Cook for booting home his first winner with a permit when Scalini’s scored at Hereford in November 2008, and he almost landed the same trainer a 100-1 winner with Light Entertainer at the same course last June. The rider retains his fans, even if certain of the punting (and in one case, non-punting) public don’t number among them.
