Nice start by Stattler at Fairyhouse. Not sure about his target but he ran in the Albert Bartlett last year so I assume he will be aimed here. He was doing all his best work at the end of 2m 5f today.

Didnt look like a NHC horse Cork did he

Was a bit keen at times and travelled very nicely

Got whalloped by GDM and GDC over hurdles hard to see that change if those two can jump

Was a good start for him

Agree but I always felt he would make a much better chaser than hurdler. I would not be surprised if he closes the gap of GDM and GDC but time will tell.

No option but to add Stattler myself, as that was better than even I expected. Still hope it’s NH Chase, but feel more comfortable adding him here.

    Gailard Du Mesnil 33’s
    Stattler 20’s

Nice from BMG. Showed up the Ahoy Senor weakness which is the jumping.

Agree Mike. Bravemansgame looks the real deal but Ahoy Senor is never going to be a top class chaser unless his jumping improves. He does not look like falling but he makes too many niggling errors which cost him momentum.

BMG really is a superb jumper, tho i think Ahoy Senor jumped so erratically today perhaps the form is doubtful

BMG was compared to Denman post race by Nicholls. Anyone doubting the form or his form can atm forget it.

Also talk from Nicholls of missing Cheltenham is madness. The owners want to go to Cheltenham, I hope they stick to their guns and tell Nicholls to stop being a scaredy-cat baby with a horse who is current favourite for this race.

Not doubting his form generally Mike, his previous two runs were exceptional; just today’s race.

I doff my titfer to BMG; a real professional performance. Considering a few shuddering errors from AS on a track that didn’t suit, I’d still be fairly hopeful he’d turn it around at Cheltenham.

AS jumping at Cheltenham will be more sternly tested i think.

Less sharp a track though Mike and left handed. We’ll see. Put
