First contender comes out on Thursday at Carlisle

Giovinco who looked like he could be anything when romping in at Perth in a listed race

The type of slow burning staying chaser lucinda does well with

On him at 20/1 hoping to see a positive run

Then we have flooring porter running on Saturday at Cheltenham, they’ll be hoping he’s not the goshen of this seasons novice chasers.

They must be confident if there going to Cheltenham first time out , if he can jump it could a sight to behold

Looks a star FF, and still can’t believe the odds at Perth. Don’t think you’ll regret taking that 20’s

I think he’s the one from the yard for this, but I’ve went with the stablemate Apple Away, as always my plan to follow her this year.

My record in this race, being kind, is patchy, but the 25’s is drying up for her, so decided to have an interest just now.

Cashed out after Haydock while I could

Gaelic Warrior may be better other way round so Stay Away Fay 12-1.

Lucinda on Giovinco the other day: ‘The Brown Advisory looks the logical long-term aim. He’s certainly got the profile for it and ability-wise it looks well within his parameters.’

Well within … that’s a very bold shout and I’ve had a tenner at 20s.

Backed Gaelic Warrior at 17/2 and added Giovinco at 18/1. Let’s hope he jumps round and runs well today.

Certainly looks a lot bigger than his namesake footballer Sebastian giovinco who is 5ft5

So hopefully he takes well to fences

2m4f not his ideal trip but if he’s a BANC horse should be winning this

I’d definitely allow him that mishap, and I’ve joined in with the 20-1. I thought that that was a race he would have won today

Was frustrating I thought he was about to win well

Was tanking into it and good risk at all had been softened up by the other front runner

Novice for a reason and he should learn from that

Not ideal but slip very much not going in the bin

I don’t think it can be said he definitely would have won because the fall was a little too far out – but he probably would have done.

He was a little bit guessy at one or two fences but perhaps that is to be expected on his first attempt over fences.

It was a reasonable start but he obviously needs to jump round next time. There ought to be a soft novice Chase around the likes of Ayr for him.

Giovinco will make up for today. Exceptionally clever at the 5th and saved himself in that unseat where his head was on the turf; the rest of him should really have followed and I hope he has done no damage in twisting his way out of it. Winner was impressive though, and it seemed very much his trip whereas Giovinco wants farther, something you can see from his galloping style alone.

Giovinco backers a few words of advice…. back another one ;o)

Carlisle is a stiff track , wouldn’t be the first novice to be caught out , he can be forgiven

Stay Away Fay makes chasing debut Friday at Exeter. Hopefully a nice start.

I might have picked the wrong race for Iroko, having bet him NH Chase. Covered him at 20’s here, and surprised it’s still available after that performance at Warwick

    Iroko 20’s

I am at Warwick today, VTC. Iroko looked great in the paddock and he won impressively.

He is not short of pace, so I wonder if they might be thinking of the Turners? I suppose that could be a hot race and this might be easier.

There is too much uncertainty about where he will run so I will probably wait and back him on the day.

Hopefully he comes here that’ll give Fact To File a chance at the Turners for McManus.
