P6PP00 – the form figures for Nicholls’s last six runners at SPs of 6/1, 4/1, 9/2, 6/1, 16/1 and 66/1.
I won’t be waiting for the market.
Fact To File is a lovely prospect, but today’s performance is nowhere near Cheltenham Gold Cup standard and a stone below what Gaelic Warrior did in the Arkle by my reckoning.

March 13, 2024 at 23:08 #1685644Its not Ian but he has a year before he has to run in it
Other than about two horses the Gold Cup isn’t overly deep
That said some of the prices for Fact to File are bonkers, betfair sportsbook have him at 7/2
Who do they think they are? Nathbet?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 13, 2024 at 23:15 #1685646I agree, Nathan, I really like the horse, but 7/2?

The more I know the less I understand.

——————————————–I think that paints the worst picture possible for those runs, Chezza.
Those three pulled ups of Nicholls were:
Stay Away Fay – who lost a shoe as well as scoped dirty. The shoe and Yes a question mark.
Liara – made a bad mistake at the 4th hurdle before an El Fabiolo type error 3 out. Pulled up immediately with Cobden looking down. Hope the horse is ok. Jumping the problem there.
And Individualiste (well named) an individual of doubtful temperament to say the least, who hasn’t wanted to know in cheek pieces or blinkers on either of his last two starts. Pulled up in both those. So temperament looks the issue there. The two 00 to end of the sequence were 16/1 and 66/1… Not expected to do much.
The 6th place 4/1 shot was having its first ever start, with two horses shorter in the betting and one the same price. So not really fancied that much… But yes, ran poorly.
However, if you’d included all the racing on the 11th March, Plumpton and Taunton were on the same day as that 6th at Stratford… One winner at each of the other two courses, one @ 7/2 and the other 4/1.imo Not as bad as those form figures appear.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2024 at 00:13 #1685656The trouble is, we get every year after the Brown Advisory or the Turner a new fav for next year’s GC even before this year’s renewal is run.
March 14, 2024 at 00:19 #1685660Agreed it is tedious.

March 14, 2024 at 14:27 #1685917I told you Nicholls was in much better form than yesterday suggested.
