Cork, yeah that’s a real worry, and I’ll just have to take it on chin if he goes there. I can’t be betting him for all three Novices, and I don’t bet Antepost on The Turners really (I do like the race), so that’s the one I left out. I’d much rather if I’m being honest, have the current 14’s for The Turners, than the 16’s for NH Chase after that, but I had to draw the line somewhere

Mike, I think he will come here, and was happy to get the 20’s.

“Hopefully he comes here that’ll give Fact To File a chance at the Turners for McManus.”

    JP has

    Iroko
    Fact to file
    Corbetts cross
    Inthepocket

All with different trainers be no surprise to see a couple in each. Jp has no issue running multiple.

Tony McCoy and Oliver Greenall’s thoughts on Iroko after today:

    https://www.racingtv.com/news/iroko-cruises-to-victory-on-chasing-debut-at-warwick

It looks like the Kauto Star is on the agenda.

Iroko is no bigger than 14-1 for that Cheltenham Festival Grade 1 over the intermediate distance and Greenall said: “Ideally, I think you’d just stay at the same trip. At the moment you probably wouldn’t go up in trip, unless it was better ground.”
A £40,000 Class 2 novice event at Cheltenham and the Grade 2 Howden Noel Novices’ Chase at Ascot were raised as possibilities for Iroko’s next engagement.
“I’d say we’ll wait to go three miles as he’s a novice and travelling so well,” said Greenall. “You could wait another year to go up to three but we’ll just have to see how we go.”

Garlic Bread is entered in the beginners’ chase at Naas on Sunday. Nathan’s going to be getting all excited.

I’m with you Mike on Stay Away Fay + hoping he makes a nice start on Friday.

The race is semi-decent for English standards- Grey Dawning is a decent animal and went off 5-1 in the Aintree G1 + plenty others bring a decent level of form.

Iroko was mightttty impressive yesterday, he’s a threat to anyone, but with his options seemingly open- SAF winning on Friday would make him top of the list for this from the British side + with his schedule for the season mapped out i think 16-1 is a solid bet all being well.

Dan Skelton seems quite keen on Grey Dawning, he had enough speed for bumpers but a good staying pedigree and will doubt be well schooled over fences. He was meant to run at the cancelled Wetherby fixture so might have a week’s fitness on Stay Away Fay.
I’ve backed him today against the Nicholls horse and also for this at 33-1 ew.

Can’t hold off Grangeclare West  any longer either, though have just bet him win only at 33s.

Lovely start and a good performance considering he probably wasn’t fully revved up.
A decent run by the other two as well, the Tizzard horse gave it a good go.

Nicholls said “he’ll come on for the run’ pre-race so i imagine he’d be happy enough with that.

    Nicholls comments post race…

“You couldn’t want anything more first time out than that, to see him stay on strong. There’s lots of improvement to come. It’s a super first start of the season. We’ll go to the Tingle Creek meeting then Kempton. He’s not done loads and I think there’s loads to come from him.”

When asked if the National Hunt Chase could be a target after a strong-staying performance, Nicholls responded: “He’ll run in the three-miler it’s as simple as that. He’s too classy for that.”

Don’t worry you’ll still see the BANC winner in that Naas race :rose:

I’d be dead against Stay Away Fay for the Kauto Star, granted he’ll come on for the run but he looked slow against horses who will likely be in handicaps at the festival if at all, jumped fine just looked slow. Can’t see Kempton being ideal.
