The form of the American horse Sidney’s Candy looks very impressive.

He broke the track record in a Group 2 at Del Mar in his last race, his first on turf, winning unchallenged by 5 1/2 lengths, having raced keenly from the front.

Google him and ‘Del Mar’. There’s a YouTube video of the race. He didn’t beat the record by much, but he couldn’t have been all out at the finish – without any competition. Look how far ahead he is a little earlier.

He also broke the 5f track record there on the polytrack by a similar distance, as a maiden 2-year old, ridden just hands and heels.

Is that a racehorse or what!

Paco Boy has a great draw in 6. Goldikova not a good one. I really hope Paco can win this and do believe he could well do this time. He’s just a favourite of mine too! I know there are others in the mix :D

She was drawn 11 last year and still got away with it, this year should be no different. Goldi is somewhat of a nemesis for Paco, both are fine horses but Goldi is slightly better and that’s what makes her superior to him.

It is said this year’s course will give Goldi hard time considering her draw but I think she can pull through anyway.

Holy god i am very impressed,1 of the clips there he’s not even been half ridden out to the line and broke a track record!I was looking at going big on Goldi but think ill b having a smaller bet on her and a few quid e/w on Sidneys candy!

    Yeah cheers Grimes.

He was flagged up on ATRs preview this evening and I’m becoming a believer. Steve Millar spoke about the pace angle and in america as we know its good to have your ass covered. Tight inner turf course with a 2f straight…he could be impossible to catch with potentially no pressure on the lead. Even if there was, would they catch him?

    1pt saver on Sidneys @ 12/1.

Much like Zenyatta, would love to see Goldi do it. I think she will.

Gio Ponti is a massive danger and Proviso will be flying late.

Proviso the danger for me, pretty happy with those 2. But Sidney’s Candy is a bit like Presious Passion, he might bolt in.

    Outstanding.

What on earth was Moore up to on Paco? Worst ride the horse has got in all its starts.

I need to see the race again to see what Moore was up to, but the short straight really killed Paco Boy’s chances. Looks like in the straight he went for an inside run at first before shifting him out, might have cost him a length or more.

That’s incredible seeing Goldikova’s groom cheering her on!
