Am I right in saying that neither horse was taken out by connections?
I believe plenty more have been banned from running over the two days.
Yep, all a bit controversial. It seems to stem from an ever so slight touch of lameness that wouldn’t rule one out over here but of course they are being extra extra x25 more careful as they know the eyes are on them.
Seems several have been scratched by Stateside vets Jessie Harrington is none too pleased. As Chivers says seems there is over caution.
The more I know the less I understand.
They are petrified of anything going wrong, can’t blame them. We’re at the point now where another high-profile racehorse death on live TV will make some states consider racing bans more seriously.
Backed Valiant Force last week at 20/1. The draw hasn’t been kind. Didn’t get much of a handle on the race but of the 3 who won at Royal Ascot (VF, Big Evs, Crimson Advocate) it was the Adrian Murray colt who ran the best time. Doesn’t mean much, just needed an angle.
What the actual f… is going on. For one or maybe two be scratched but this seems a huge overreaction. They need to remember the euros horses will be adjusting to the hardest ground they will face. I wonder if we could see a wee bit of litigation here. I’m sure the lads will be raging having had this race in mind for river tiber for ages. Left a sour taste in the mouth.
16 horses apparently withdrawn. Utterly farcical. I know the yanks have had issues but if anything this seems a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Has fair spoiled it for me. I was so looking forward to this meeting. No doubt the withdrawals will now be the headlines instead of the racing.
