At Navan tomorrow, and I’m relieved to see that my Stayers Hurdle selection, Blazing Khal is at least alive and well.

I won’t bet him tomorrow, but I will be happy to cheer him round with preference for an incident free comeback

I had initially bet EW on Sire Du Berlais here, expecting him to be only selection, but had a backup on Highland Charge.

Sire Du Berlais is an old regular of mine, and if in the same mood as Leopardstown, I can forget it. If in the right state of mind, then massively overpriced at his time of year.

Highland Charge has been disappointing over fences, but I can see him outrunning his odds back over timber. Smaller bet for him, as it’s really a one selection only race, but I’d kick myself if he did it. (Cashed out, no need for two in a race like this)

    Sire Du Berlais 33’s EW

I suppose Saint Sam has to win this snugly if he wants to be a stayers horse so he’s my selection. Got him on his own and in a treble with American Mike and The Gunner Yeats.

Though 3m would be preferable, Meet And Greet showed enough over a wholly-inadequate 2m last time out to suggest a victory over this 2m5f is possible.

Grand Roi is a frustrating horse sometimes, but I’ve bet him here at 22-1 ew

I do agree that a fully ready Blazing Khal will win though

I doubt blazing khal will be near fully ready given the setbacks he’s had so if he wins this I’d be impressed

    Highland Charge
    Each way.
    Saint Sam
    Win
Gigginstown record in this very good.
Highland Charge pulled up after showing form.
Examined after at request of stewards and “post race normal”.

Well done Spoon and ham, that was good considering the time off and the fact that he’s a 3 miler held up off a slow pace. Impressed.

    Well done spoon and Ham.
Brilliant performance off such a long break.
Gellino Bellini will be pleased too.

Trainer reported BK was pretty straight for today’s assignment.
So not surprised he won as it was a winnable race for him if fit.
