Dave Nevison’s ‘social sports betting’ business has gone tits up with the website now unavailable.
It appeared to be struggling since the start of the year when its bank account was blocked. It susequently went into liquidation before the Gambling Commission revoked it’s licence a couple of weeks ago, stating “one or more conditions of the licence has been breached”.
The commission also noted “Bodugi Limited is unsuitable to carry out its licensed activities in a manner which is consistent with the licensing objectives”.
Anyway, it appears the company database was sold to Bet Butler (no, me neither), who said it would honour customers’ account balances. From all information seen online, punters are struggling to get their money back from that company too.
I’ve never quite bought in to the Dave Nevison story. His pro-gambling life seemed to be all about drinking, partying, sh*gging and naturally winning thousands at the same time with seemingly very little effort. My experience has been that it doesn’t quite work like that.
He’s certainly promoted himself as a new lads’ version of a pro-punter. Maybe he’s just a genius. Or maybe he’s following the old racing adage of having a large fortune to start with.
Qui sait?(allegedly, IMO etc etc)

April 26, 2014 at 13:40 #476975I read both his books and was convinced that he knew his nags. The books played up every angle of his life that could be construed or exaggerated into ‘colourful’ anecdotes because marketing men think that is what book buyers want. In between the vainglorious boasts was a picture of a man who studied hard but could be easily distracted. Most of us can identify with that, can’t we?
October 27, 2014 at 06:47 #493567He was on RUK yesterday as the supposed "pundit". How embarrassing. Some folk have no shame, never heard such drivel.
Worst part is, RUK using part of peoples £22.50p monthly subscription to pay the bluffer.

Stoned love
He named his house Cincinnati and when not sharing someone else’s bed shared his own with a blow-up doll of Steve McQueen
Trouble is, a lot of men remain a Kid but few kids become a Man
And now, finally, like his mentor, he too has overcooked his Toad in the Hole
Sure he enjoyed every minute
October 27, 2014 at 12:38 #493590Prompted by the renewal of this thread, I’ve just had a quick google of more recent events. And guess what? The jokers who bought Bodugi.com have also gone tits up:

Staggeringly, BetButler’s boss was none other than William Rollason, erstwhile CEO of Farepak, the high-profile Christmas hamper company that infamously collapsed owing customers millions in 2006!

God only knows if any Bodugi or BetButler punters ever got reunited with their cash (BetButler’s insult-laden tweet timeline suggests not) but if Nevison or Rollason are still holding your readies, don’t despair – your details have now been sold to a Curacao-based company called Momaco for the sum of £1. Which all sounds immensely promising.

October 27, 2014 at 13:07 #493594I am not suggesting that Mr Nevison has acted in anything other than a totally lawful and honest way, but I do hope that RUK have satisfied themselves that they are happy using him as a pundit in regard to his previous business activities.
For all I know, Bodugi’s punters may have been repaid in full, entirely to their satisfaction – I certainly hope so!

October 27, 2014 at 15:41 #493610I had heard of BetButler because they used to appear on the morning show on Talksport when Keys and Gray presented it
It was basically an advert but dressed up as a chat about todays odds, mainly on football…….they were a sort of odds comparison site where you could also place your bets
Needless to say…….they haven’t been on for some time
I saw Nevison on RUK yesterday, poor Olly Bell seemed to be struggling. Dave’s current thing appeared to be ‘angles’ gleaned from the stats, presumably on the Racing post site…..you know the sort of thing…..’when Jimmy Jockey rides for Tom Trainer on a Sunday in October he’s got a level stakes profit of £4.32 from 3 runners’
Shame realy ‘cos I used to enjoy watching Dave on the Wednesday night Kempton shows……..I remember his big gamble on Mullionmileanhour which was backed down from big prices to 10/1 and scooted in for his mate John Best
October 28, 2014 at 13:26 #493654Was interested to see Nevison pop up on RUK on Sunday and listened to him about his new computer system tips and that seemed to be a complete load of old wotsits.
May as well get the Couch back as well on RUK.
