Ken, I was expecting you to inspect the droppings, to find out what time of the month it is.

February 14, 2009 at 19:09 #210169So very very close with Coe there
February 14, 2009 at 19:09 #210170Gosh, apart from Mon Mome, I got the 1st, 2nd & 3rd. It was a waste of time me analysing the race, as I’d already had those bets on.
February 14, 2009 at 19:11 #210173I’ve just checked my GN book – if Rambling Minster wins, I make a profit of 57 pence.

KenFebruary 14, 2009 at 19:16 #210176Same here Halfway. Coe would have been a nice win for me, but I only had my usual £2 on Rambling Minster.
Can we open a spread book on how often the commentators say Rambling Minister, instead of Rambling Minster?

I did ok having only backed the 2. Put enough on to save my bet if Rambling Minster was placed. Quite embarassing as I never really expected him to win but I’ll take it anyway.
Rest of the day doesn’t matter now
February 14, 2009 at 19:32 #210186The analysis I wrote is embarrassing, but if you rely on luck instead of being good, like what I do, then I suppose it is the bets that count!
February 15, 2009 at 00:53 #210265I am pleased about Rambling Minster for two reasons. The first and perhaps most unimportant is that I have £6 at 120’s to win and £10 at 16’s to be placed. However, most important, to me anyway, is that he is a half brother to Lord Rodney who tragically died when being brought down at the Chair in the Topham and was part owned by my cousin. Would love to see him win the big one.
February 15, 2009 at 04:07 #210300Does he need soft ground KC? and is it time I gave up on Character Building??
February 15, 2009 at 19:35 #210380Apparently Rambling Minster prefers good ground. Thought the jockey gave it a good ride.
February 15, 2009 at 20:33 #210389Very good race with a decent finish from the veteran just getting the better of the young upstart.
Miko de Beauchene put is a much better perfomance and looks to have a race in him somewhere before the end of April.
Coe is still improving and maybe a crack at the 4m at the festival or either the Midlands or Jocko National would be up his street.
Excellent days racing yesterday and much better than last week at Wolves.
February 15, 2009 at 21:22 #210401Interesting that Miko De Beauchere is now being aimed at the Gold Cup
February 15, 2009 at 21:24 #210403Really? Where did you read that?
I think I’ve got 50 [edit: actually 49.08] for a place.
February 15, 2009 at 22:22 #210420Poor foresight there from Miko’s connections IMO. There’s little to suggest he’ll be good enough to make the frame in the GC, whilst he also looks an ideal type for the GSDP.
February 15, 2009 at 22:32 #210424It’s on this link, Gerald

Thornton is right in saying he’ll be a 100/1 shot (at best) but he will stay if the rubbish weather continues to create havoc with the big race days thats for sure.
