Nayef – "a group 3 horse that got lucky":laugh: Esc, come on now put the grouse down!
overrated my arse!
June 21, 2002 at 12:46 #100016
Sorry Jim/Bart but as much as i like Nayef (i’ve been a follower since race 1) i do not believe he’s a Group One class horse.
June 22, 2002 at 11:16 #100017Hold my hands up! Was wrong about Grandera and well done to everyone who stuck with him. I do have doubts about the form though………….think the leaders went off much too fast, look how tired Bach finished.Banks Hill just did’nt pick up and Nayef ran like the Group2 horse he has always been. Frankie knew the field would come back to him because they went off much to fast and he was held off the pace. But impressive performance none the less. I doubt he’ll rate up with Godolphin’s previous winners of the race but he’ll deserve respect where ever he goes next…………..but would’nt it be nice for Godolphin to have a horse from foal to yearling to 2 year old to 3 year old and then to older horse?Rather than 4 year old onwards.Personally I think they got so much joy from Dubai Millenium because they had him from day one.

I still think (as well after Saturday) that Grandera is a very good horse. My personell opinin is that he is better over 1m2f than over 1m4f. Let’s be honest the Saturdayform was to bad to be true.
:pimp:
July 29, 2002 at 10:02 #100020Grandera needs the snip I think!
His temperment is going to cost him races and he did look reluctant in the home straight and he has run well over 1m4f before.
On his best day he could win a Juddmonte International but I’d rather side with Sakhee who can go on g/f anyway, don’t know why they just didn’t run him on Saturday, as there was no jar in the ground at all.
