Hi Guys, I am new here, stumbled across the forum and really enjoyed the insight from some of you guys. Clearly a lot of you know your racing inside out. I can’t possibly claim to have that kind of skill at deciphering the form book, but I enjoy dabbling. I bet for fun, I am not a serious investor. Anyway I will put up my selections, and I am happy for comments on my selections and analysis, positive or otherwise, always looking to learn.
So anyway, for today here are my offerings:-
Ascot 1:15 Hammersly Lake. Clearly Top Notch is the one to beat, however at 4/1 I think Hammersly Lake has a much better chance than this, I disappointing start over fences, but a good second to Le Prezien next time out, further improvement is definitely possible here.
More to follow but my internet is dying right now, so I will come back to this a bit later.
December 17, 2016 at 11:45 #1277557OK, internet back u and running

L2:00 Grendisar, loves it around here probably needed the run last time out.
F1:00 Minella Till Dawn, Good 2nd last time out, 3rd place in that race has come out and won since beating a good mullins sort who had finished 4th behind Ballyandy in Cheltenham bumper so form of that race looks quite good. Would have preferred a slightly better price, but probably fair.
A2:25 Unowhatimeanharry, I have backed him for every run since joining Harry Fry so can’t oppose him now.
A3:35 Jolly’s Cracked It, Saves his best for this course, and 12/1 is a silly price.
H12:20 Must be a 2 horse race, Cloudy Dream has done all that has been asked of him but hard to be excited about the form of those races, so have to be on Buveur D’Air who’s hurdles form is superior and will love the soft ground.
That’s it for today.
December 17, 2016 at 11:45 #1277558Good luck
Bladeblaster and welcome to TRFGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 17, 2016 at 13:40 #1277582good luck bladeblaster
December 17, 2016 at 16:06 #1277622Thanks guys.
Not a bad start.
Buveur D’Air @ EVNS
Unowhatimeanharry @ 5/4
Minella Til Dawn @ 5/4Small level stakes profit of +0.5 Hammersly Lake game again but not good enough, very disappointing from Grendisar.
December 17, 2016 at 20:20 #12776652 bets for me tomorrow.
T2:10 Shattered Love, Asthuria is probably a worthy favourite, but at 5/2 Shattered love represents good value wouldn’t need to show too much improvement to trouble the favourite I think. The winner of his second last race has come out and won well again beating some decent horses.
T3:40 Sharps Choice, the from of his second place is arguably as good if not better than the favourite, the current 7/4 seems like a decent enough price.
The 12:45 at Navan is a fascinating race, but will be a watch and not play for me. Moulin A Vent has some intersting form, beating Minella Till Dawn, who won for me today, last time out. Death Duty was an easy winner LTO but I couldn’t back anything at a short price with Brian Cooper piloting. Definitely a watching race but very interested to see how Moulin A Vent fares, with 1 more runner in the race I would be tempted to have a place bet.
December 17, 2016 at 21:05 #1277673Welcome to TRF Blades, and well done on your winning start
December 18, 2016 at 14:49 #1277784Thanks VTC
One winner on the board today so far, Shattered Love @ 5/2 very nice.
Death Duty went out from last nights shorter price, at 6/4 I might have been tempted, but I was playing golf and didn’t look until after the race.
No luck with Sharps Choice
so +£2:00 so far, happy enough with that.
December 18, 2016 at 19:15 #12778262 possible for me tomorrow.
H1:05 Acting Lass, Won by 11 lengths last time out, and the 3rd place horse has come out and won a Class 3 since, should be able to follow up here. There are a couple of obvious dangers though, Some Invitation and Finnians Oscar, both for yards in good form. I probably won’t play at anything less than 6/4, 2/1 would be nice.
H2:05 Going to take another chance on Chef D’oeuvre, unseated last time, but should be more than capable of winning over fences at this level being a good PTP horse. Will wait and see what the official going is, not much chance of rain, and on the face of it will need soft ground.
December 19, 2016 at 11:40 #1277853Also liking Plus Jamais in the 2:30
The winner of his last race finished close up second in a class 3 next time. West Of The Edge seems much better suited over fences than hurdles and I think is worth taking on here. Brian Hughes riding the selection also a big positive.
December 19, 2016 at 13:17 #1277859Silly price on Acting Lass glad I swerved it.
Will be on Chef and Plus Jamais though.
December 19, 2016 at 18:12 #1277888Bit disappointed close but no cigar today. Back to 0
December 20, 2016 at 09:01 #1277912A few selections today
T2:50 Hint Of Mint, can hopefully show enough improvement to take this nothing else really stands out in the race.
S1:30 Secret Clause, Appleby mentions him in n ATR stable tour as having a good chance around here, who am I to argue?
K2:10 Red Cossack best form by far around Kempton and step up in trip may bring improvement.
K2:40 Sandfrankskipsgo seems over priced to me, down in grade and off a reasonable mark. Worth am eachway shout.
K5:40 Baltic Prince, 4 from 5 around here and can hopefully follow up on latest C&D win.
S2:30 Philba, another mentioned in Appleby stable tour and proven around here.
S3:00 Katie Gale good record around Southwell 3 of her 5 wins here, down in grade and off a winnable mark.

December 21, 2016 at 09:32 #1277980Just 2 today
L2:10 The form of the favourites last race doesn’t read great to me and well worth taking on. I am going with Wizards Sliabh who had Tinted Rose beaten last time and they meet again effectively on the same terms. Good booking for Tinted Rose this time though ST-D may be able to get improvement from her but I am going with Wizards Sliabh.
L3:40 Black Mischief will have come on for his run last month and can take on Hendersons runner who comes here after 8 months off.
December 21, 2016 at 17:34 #1278018Close again -8
December 22, 2016 at 09:17 #1278078K2:10 Kaspian Tern Jamie Snowden believes she is well handicapped and will appreciate the step up in trip, has to be taken on faith though.
W2:00 The Daley Express slow away last time finishing like a train. If gets a good break should be right there at the end.
