Surprised there wasn’t more publicity for Willie Mullins’ amazing achievement. Such an ambitious target, with a horse a bit below the top flight; the financial commitment must have been significant, though the prize seems to be colossal.
It reminds me of when his dad trained Grabel to win the big hurdle in the US during the 90s, which was also a huge prize.
His achievments in France are also astounding; 4 Champion Hurdles in the last 10 years. Why do more trainers not have a go?
