I think it would be a good opportunity for Loughnane at this stage of his career.
It might not last long, but it would get him out of the sand pits and into riding in Pattern races.

October 1, 2023 at 19:09 #1665255Bad move imo there are lots he could swim with, but these sharks?
We are yet to know how these ‘fantastic’ results are achieved.
December 9, 2023 at 15:44 #1673270A setback for Billy. Let’s hope he learns his lesson:
December 10, 2023 at 08:19 #1673346Give him a chance to get some sun on his back , few beers in Magaluf and he’ll be good to go for the new season
December 10, 2023 at 09:36 #1673353That is what I would do too, HDLG. But after he rode a winner at Wolverhampton last night, he told SSR he would spend the time riding out and keeping himself fit. He is clearly dedicated!
December 10, 2023 at 09:48 #1673355It’s commendable but the lad isn’t going to learn much doing that , if I was his dad be telling him to get away for a break , this a big season upcoming

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 19, 2024 at 13:02 #1698632A real talent. I’d say a couple years and then a big job would be the optimum plan. No need to rush things. I certainly wouldn’t think AMO racing would be the job for him at this stage.
June 21, 2024 at 17:14 #1699228Glad he was riding winners instead of sat in the weighing room cuddling his claim.

Sounds a touch arrogant don’t you think!
July 16, 2024 at 09:32 #1701952Not really, quite likely to happen and hope I stay alive long enough to see it.

Sorry, only just picked up this comment.
I am not so sure. I don’t think anyone expressed any doubts about Billy Loughnane’s ability. He is clearly a special talent. That was obvious from the start, hence me starting up the thread.
The only issue was if he was going through his claim too quickly and wasting it on small all weather events when he could save it for bigger handicaps in the summer.
I think that was a legitimate concern at the time.
