Was decent horse on the flat ran behind Triple Threat in group 3 since gone to Willie Mullins where did well over jumps won very well over hurdles last time out. look like now they found the key to ride him better now at front of race.Mullins won race before he intresting for me in this handicap.

Good spot Darren. They might well have found the key to him. I’ve taken some 20 with Coral and left an order in for the Champion Hurdle.

Seen his entry for Galway on Wednesday morning Darren, and topped up the 25’s with a few more quid at 20’s. Was happy with that run tonight, and they’ve got to let him take his chance now surely. Corals are still standing the 20’s.

Ivan for me at this stage, though Heartbreak City is very much on the radar. Both real favourites of mine and wouldn’t be put off splitting the pair Antepost.

Joe, it was myself who added him to The Betfair Market for The Champion Hurdle, and I missed the proper big prices. I am not best pleased lol

Fine foresight, Bobby. What prices were offered?

Cheers Joe, been banging on about this horse all year, really like him, and he could be bet 180’s to 200’s. I reckon he’s good enough to be considered for it, and he looks the winner of The Fighting Fifth already, that would be the route I take.

Planned to bet him last night, but I was backshift, and it was very, very busy, and I just couldn’t get to my phone. The prices were snapped up, and I called myself a few names lol

My three against the field are Heartbreak City, Oceanographer and Vent de Force. HC is in good form after prevailing at Galway, which can be a good precursor for York. Godolphin have also been in terrific nick all summer now and I feel Oceanographer has been kept away from the bigger handicaps with this in mind-his wellbeing also confirmed after winning a small class 2 last week. Hughie Morrison expects a decent performance from VDF and should cope with the drop back in trip. He was deemed a cup horse last year but things didn’t pan out but made an encouraging return last month.

Like the look of Mullins second string Thomas Hobson here.

Flew up the handicap last year from August onwards in races up to 12F while trained by Gosden

Improved again over hurdles this winter despite not being the most fluent hurdler. Ended up running 3rd to Jer’s Girl at Punchestown.

Notable entry in the Irish St Leger

    33/1 currently

Having had a quick look I have come up with three that could be interesting.

    SHE IS NO LADY 20/1

    TOP TUG 33/1

    QEWY 20/1

She Is No Lady looks like a typical Ralph Beckett improver and ran well last time against Sandro Bottecelli just not quite getting there.
Top Tug looks to me to have been crying out for this trip and has lacked the tactical pace in 10 and 12 furlong races to finish it off.
Qewy is proving consistent over a variety of trips and if they go quick will definitely be staying on when some others have had enough.

I do see where you are coming from with IVAN GROZNY but I don’t trust WM as far as what he is going to run!!

I like the look of Iain Jardine’s SHREWD. He improved at a rate of knots
over hurdles, winning 3 out of 4 between January and March, rising in the handicap from
105 to 137. On reverting to the flat at the end of March, he convincingly won over 14f in
a handicap at Wolverhampton off a mark of 84.

He is going to feel quite at home here, as his next 3 were all at York. The first of those
was over 12f, where he was keeping on really well at the finish to finish 5th. That was
followed up with a nice win over 14f, where he hosed up carrying top weight. His 3rd York run
was in a decent listed race over 14f where he ran well finishing 5th (“kept on, nearest finish”)
where he would have been receiving more than 10lbs from those placed 2nd 3rd and 4th in a
    handicap.

This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the handicapper, and he’s up 16lbs, from 84 to 100. Despite that,
I think he could still be well handicapped as he has done nothing but improve. Ian Jardine’s
stable is in cracking form at the moment having 5 winners in the past 12 days.

He is also entered in a race at Chester the same day, but I’d have to think that was just
insurance in case he didn’t make the cut here. He’s 21st and I’m not sure but I think there
should be 20 runners (someone can put me right if I’ve got that wrong) so I would be surprised
    if he didn’t sneak in.

He is a horse that is going the right way, clearly likes York and comes from a stable in red hot
form. 25/1 is just too good a price to ignore, he’ll do for me :good:

Haven’t really had time to look at the race but have just put a bet on The Twisler who has a 5lb claimer on board, seems to specialise in 14f races, but has been running in longer ones. Have also backed Top Tug because I like 5 year olds in the race and She is No Lady who has been tipped on another forum [someone has kindly done all the stats for me], so good to see that raymo has picked them also. Annoyed with betting when it’s first 4 when it will probably be first 5 on Saturday though.

Got my eye on that one as well Moehat. Ran a good race in the Gold cup from the front.

Could take some pegging back if he can get ahead early over this trip. :good:

Went for a win bet on Heartbrake City @ 14’s in the end.

Won at the course this time last year, improved over hurdles lately & 5lbs claimer booked.

    Best of luck
