I was surprised to hear this.It will not bother me as there is no Paddy Power shop nearby. With Ladbrokes and Coral merging there will be very little choice, interesting times.
If you go to back a certainty always buy a return ticket.
August 26, 2015 at 07:44 #1183446Coral and Ladbrokes, betfair and Paddy
I hear William Hill are in talks about merging with gingertipster but he is holding out for Skybet as there’s a free sky tv package incentive including half price RUK, value is everything.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
August 26, 2015 at 08:33 #1183473Paddy Power will hold the majority of the stake if it goes through – 52%.

August 26, 2015 at 08:39 #1183482so Timeform now to be owned by out-and-out bookie ?
August 26, 2015 at 10:53 #1183577I like Paddy I hope it doesn’t get swallowed up like Bluesq did, I suppose as long as Paddy are the majority it should survive, but they say they will keep their repsective identities but surely it will only be a matter of time before they become one and Paddy’s website is the pits for going down all the time so hopefully this could mean an improvemtn there.
August 26, 2015 at 12:43 #1183620so Timeform now to be owned by out-and-out bookie ?
Will this mean Simon Rowlands will have to resign his post as Chairman of the new BHA Bettors Forum?
August 26, 2015 at 13:06 #1183653Oh no; and I’ve only just found a local Paddy Power [whatever happened to the monopolies commission?]
August 26, 2015 at 14:58 #1183696so Timeform now to be owned by out-and-out bookie ?
The creatures outside looked from Sleepy Hollow wallah to bookmaker, and from bookmaker to media pundit, and from media pundit to Sleepy Hollow wallah again; but already it was impossible to say which was which. They all wore the same lucky pants!
August 26, 2015 at 16:33 #1183732Disturbing; wouldn’t be so bad if it was 50-50 or Befair having the 52%. As a Timeform subscriber am worried about this one.
Main man moves from Paddy Power to Betfair and then Paddy Power end up effectively owning Betfair and Timeform. Hmmmm.
Value Is EverythingAugust 26, 2015 at 16:54 #1183734None of them lay 2 bananas to a banana anyway. The sad thing is that racing is dependent on the scum for an income.
A Tote/Exchange monopoly would be better for both racing and punters.

why the change of moniker ?
August 26, 2015 at 18:37 #1183757Hi Wit,
I can’t login to the new site with my old username for some reason. I suspect dark forces are at play.
August 26, 2015 at 22:08 #1183871Fair play to my old friend, Ross Banner – he predicted all this way back in 2001.
If only he could have had an ante post bet on it. =D

Couldn’t agree with you more Yeatsie, none of them will lay anything like a decent bet, unless of course you’re an habitual loser.

Those who said the future of exchange betting belonged to The Boys in Green, all those years ago, knew what they were talking about Chief.
August 27, 2015 at 13:01 #1184195Will this mean it will be possible to lay horses in the shops, do you think?
