Joe, I hope it’s a quiet run for Present Man, I want him to drop a couple of pounds for Wincanton in November lol
@Raymo
Another Just A Par scenario would be good.April 26, 2019 at 00:58 #1423083Looking for a backup here to TYM, should Yager not get in, and I’m going to go with Vyta Du Roc.
He’s shown nothing this year, but it was a similar scenario two years ago. Quiet campaign, then ran a belter in this, couldn’t have been closer.
He’ll be higher here than two years ago, but his spring form is rock solid, and on his day he’s a very good horse.
Question marks over his soundness after returning from Colic, but he’s definitely worth a risk here at the price. I’ve taken 25’s ew, but I’ll top up win only if he goes bigger.
The Young Master 14’s
Get On The Yager 50’s EW
Vyta Du Roc 25’s EW 6 PlacesApril 26, 2019 at 22:14 #1423323I’m off to my first visit to Sandown tomorrow
April 26, 2019 at 22:18 #1423325Good luck Frankie, it’s a terrific venue, and Bet365 Gold Cup Day has a great atmosphere.
April 26, 2019 at 22:22 #1423326I like two of the market principles here.
I think that this trip looks perfect for Talkischeap at 8-1, and he’s my main fancy at that price.
I was so impressed with Step Back in this last year, but he just hasn’t looked the same horse this time around. It will be a sore one if I miss out on him, but I’ve went with Just A Sting as my second selection.
April 26, 2019 at 23:43 #1423345Have to have a bet for the last big GB jumps race but too lazy to research “new” horses so I’ve gone with two old favourites (not that either has ever won me anything IIRC…but I have a soft spot for both).
Present Man 18-1
Flying Angel 28-1
Both EW 6 places with PaddyP.Hoping freshness, good ground and a wind op will see Present Man home.
Flying Angel never did much after his one good Aintree run but he’s a bit better this year than last. Had a grand national entry last year so they must think he has some chance of staying. Light framed sort who might bounce off the ground too.Good luck all, enjoy the last hurrah on that side of the ditch before the glamorous Flatheads take over from us hedgehopping culchies.
April 27, 2019 at 02:16 #1423377Really disappointed Crievehill didn’t make it to the lineup, but my idea of
a reserve at that point was Captain Chaos and 18/1 seems decent enough
odds for an E/W. Got tapped for toe at Newcastle over 3m, but as with his
next run in the Roland Meyrick, both back in December, he was running on.
Ran a very decent race last time out in the Kim Muir, looked like he might
pull it off at one point, but tired into 6th late on. That was on pretty
testing ground and I’m hoping that the extra distance, which he looked like
he wanted last back end, and the better ground brings out a bit more in him.April 27, 2019 at 07:07 #1423385Just a Sting looks the sort of progressive type to run well in this race. A nice weight and the quick ground will suit, he’ll do for me.
Good luck all.
April 27, 2019 at 10:51 #1423419STEP BACK, ROCK THE KASBAH
April 27, 2019 at 10:52 #1423420Captain Chaos non runner so have added Rolling Dylan to Just a Sting

Good Luck Guys
April 27, 2019 at 12:58 #1423451Sticking with the 2 antepost I’ve got… The Young Master 11s and Give Me A Copper 12s. Good luck all.
April 27, 2019 at 13:01 #1423452I love Le Reve and it’s great to see him back and running well [albeit still getting over not backing him because of his poor running when first back]. Also love The Young Master and still feel sorry for him having that big race taken away from him at the start of his career. PN must have laid a lot of horses out for this meeting in case he needed to wins to regain the trainers title. I have backed Rolling Dylan as my main bet, though. Having a dire season betting wise; new dog seems to be taking up all of my time and energy and I just throw pennies at outsiders [but always miss the several outsiders that have won recently..grrr]…

Good thinking moe.
Hope you are right for my Present Man bet!April 27, 2019 at 13:40 #1423462I’m prepared to give give me a copper another chance , backed him with Vyta du ruc , as cognac said his run in this 2 years ago catch’s the eye , he also won late on last year …springs the time to catch him
April 27, 2019 at 15:46 #1423472Well done winners. 2nd and 4th will do.
April 27, 2019 at 16:49 #1423482WD Lemons you must have been smiling coming to the last
April 27, 2019 at 22:23 #1423500I was willing TYM home, but not to be. Very easy winner for you Lemons, definitely a promising sort, well done.
