Then again, you’d have to say that Hoo La Baloo hasn’t got a chance of staying, but he still seems to run mighty races at Sandown. Know what you mean, though. I sometimes wonder if jumps trainers ever study pedigrees at all [like what we do!].
April 24, 2010 at 19:20 #292279Its not so much the pedigree, which I can’t recall at the moment, as that the horse how now run in the region of 25 times at this sort of distance, for just one win.
April 24, 2010 at 22:23 #292326Great run from Church Island, Lacdoudal was pretty impressive, too, and Monkerhostin showed why he’s one of the most personally popular horses there is.
However – and this might just be the wallet talking – I only wish Eric’s Charm had run.

So don't run, just like the others always do
April 25, 2010 at 05:52 #292352Hi Fist
1966
What a Myth
9 09-08 Paul Kelleway Ryan Price
Now there was some horse. He had huge feet and needed heavy going. He also won the Gold Cup. Spent his retirement on the gallops. I didn’t like Ryan’s swearing but I do admire the way he looked after and kept his famous horses. Paul Kellaway died recently but daughter Gaye trains a few gooduns.
Seems like we both won a few bob from ‘good old Pricy’.
April 25, 2010 at 09:45 #292375Any news about Kilcrea Castle? [have to say she has the most brilliant website; the photographs of her horses in training are superb..don’t like to email about KC]
April 26, 2010 at 06:47 #292548Have to admit to being a bit gutted, having backed three horses in the race win only – 2nd, 3rd & 4th. Congrats to Church Island’s trainer – well plotted! I haven’t seen the race as I was out playing cricket, but it sounds like it was a good end to the NH season.
May 1, 2010 at 15:20 #293330Gosh, Eric’s Charm is having another go, lh at Uttoxeter in a few minutes. MUST be in good form for them to keep going . . .
