Indeed so Nathan, smoke from the forest fires being the reason to abandon the meeting. I heard on today’s news the average temperature across the country was a record breaking 40.9 degrees and dry as a tinder box. I understand from MrE he has gone walkabout and can only hope he is safe and well.

I have one for tomorrow here in England, where we could do with a slice of the sunshine and dry weather, it is one of those amateur affairs which I hold on low regard but a system pick has to be posted.

    How bad can it get?

3 meetings so far for Friday and Saturday have been abandoned due to extreme heat of 40 degrees.

” I understand from MrE he has gone walkabout and can only hope he is safe and well.”

He is probably going “down-under” with his hosepipe to assist to cool the horses down.

Certainly, bad in Australia at the moment. I have only experienced really hot temperatures once as a child and that was 37c at Port Aden: dripping sweat and every breath felt your chest inside was being cooked!

. . . . . . and we moan Matron, really when we have no right to do so!

I will start with a very BIG mention for Race 9, Yarra Valley, where HOWLOWCANYOUGO, this horse has ticked every system box, but as any such horse the available price is low, currently at 4/5 but I will check it again much later before I go to bed to see if the price has drifted just a tad, if so I shall as they say Fill my Boots! A very small priced winner.

    SERTIN – Lismore Race 2 – @ 6/4 . . . . .Won

    THREEPOINT MISSILE – Sunshine Coast Race 6 – @ 27/20

Only THREEPOINT MISSILE shows to be of Quaddie interest.

FRUEDINKS R4 Sunshine Coast is the one of special interest but without ALL the ticks I am holding back.

The almost Polar opposite of Australia where the average temp. reached 107 degrees we have to manage the wet conditions.

I have two very hopeful selections for tomorrow, Friday: –

    Uttoxeter 2.55 STORM WIZARD @ 5/6 – I hope the price drifts.

    Southwell 3.20 HAREEM QUEEN @ 6/4

How frustrating to have both finish second.

Saturdays (i.e. Tomorrow) is so full on I have to draw a line somewhere otherwise I think my head will explode. Having already checked 11 meetings in Australia and found 4 selections I will stop, regardless of missing winners or not.

    BOLD STAR – R3 Flemington BOLD STAR @ 5/2 boosted by Unibet . . . . . Won

    REGAL POWER – R8 Ascot REGAL POWER @ 21/20 . . . . . Won

    ANALYTICA – R2 Gawler @ 1/1 boosted by Unibet

    LOPEZ – R2 Gold Coast @ 5/2

My hybrid of Australian and domestic systems has produced little for tomorrow, Saturday, other than 2 odds-on shots but perhaps the best may have been saved until last: –

    LET ME BE – Newcastle 3.20 – 11/8 . . . . . . Won

Saturday Soccer how I hate that word but it does link well with Saturday. I have checked out 4 English & 3 Scottish leagues and they are looking pretty difficult. I will keep my stakes light for these two trebles: –

    BRADFORD – DUNDEE – RAITH approx 100/30 . . . Lost

    BRADFORD – CAMBRIDGE – EXETER approx 7/1 . . . Lost

    BROOK’S PLEASURE – Townsville R8 @ 9/5

    CELTIC COURT – Bunbury R5 @ 6/4

    . . . . and should it drift: –

Everything can lose Nathan which is why I bet in pennies and not pounds.

TAREE is situated between Sydney and Brisbane and so is very much in danger regarding the current fire crisis.

I have been told many times over the years to mix my selections up and not hang all my hopes on favourites as being the only way to profit. My firm belief has been small profits can grow just as acorns eventually become oak trees.

However I understand not everyone loves the favourites as much as I and so I shall try to find a horse at better prices should anyone be interested.

    Taree – Race 5 EDITORS currently 4f @ 13/2 . . . . . 4th = Lost

I mostly use bet365 for my Australian selections because to my knowledge they are the only UK based bookie with a version of BOG but their prices are for win only and I shall be betting any of these each way.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS you lot, I hope you all drink yourselves stupid…. not hard for Nathan cuz he’s halfway to stupid before he’s had a drink.
Required a bit of time away from the hustle and bustle of it all, hence my sitting in my rocking chair cuddling my little furry koala…. now that’s gonna provoke a smart arse comment from Nathan about my evil intentions towards old Bill…. no chance, Matron has me handcuffed to his bed and I don’t like where he’s sticking that mistletoe and asking me to kiss it….. yukkky, I was nearly sick then…. :-) :-) :-)
Have a good holiday all of you, I’ll see you all on Boxing Day…. if Matrons had enough by than…..

I have just realised I did not post my “Best of the Quaddies” yesterday when trying to update a nice winner. This getting old is becoming such a ruddy nuisance and a little bit worrying as well.

There was a winner, a loser and CELTIC COURT (not yet run) 8.20 Bunbury also duplicated via an earlier post.
