If you have dropped the Aussie selections were are you batting now MrE?
Turffontein in South Africa was always a system in days gone by. My brother would say pick one in this and I’d pick a Mike De Kcock horse that wasn’t fav or one in the Skieh Hamdon colours.

South Africa is a very good winter option Nathan but does not have the same number of meetings but I did OK before concentrating on Australia.

Each of these places have dominant trainers or rider combo’s such as the man you mention and I imagine following them (perhaps with a staking plan) could be profitable.

It has taken a bit of searching but just for fun here is a couple at SCOTTSVILLE – SOUTH AFRICA for Sunday.

I have tried to apply similar Australian system rules but can only offer expected prices.

    *Race 4 – 12.05 JACKSON WELLS @ 3.8 placed 2nd @ 11/8

    Race 9 3.10 KING JULIAN @ 3.5 best early price of 5/2

It will be interesting to see the results.

*Best early price Jackson Wells @ 9/4 betfair

Nathan….. I only play my serious bet on UK racing… I have dabbled Stateside for awhile but found that knackered up a lot of my evenings and I was looking to ease off on the hours. Aussie racing appeared to be the best way forward during the terrible weather we were having, abandoned races, n/runners and heavy going were taking their toll on my profits and Aussie seemed to be the answer, I studied the differences and started finding winners (and losers) and I expect I’ll get somewhere with it in the next few months…. but my mainstay is the UK, the rest is just noise….

    Monday (Sunday night) Down Under.

I am feeling more optimistic having woken up this morning to find a winner and 2nd(e/w) returning me a profit on the day.

Monday in Oz is usually of limited choice but there are 3 meetings and I have decided to use my Free Bets via Ladbrokes: –

WELLINGTON NSW (not New Zealand) is approx 350k’s west of Sydney via the Blue Mountains and has a population of circa 4K and is a service town for the beef, sheep and wine industries.
    Race 5 LULU’S DESTINY @ 11/10

Because of the freebie I have chosen ONE MORE SAPHIRE Race 7 Tuncurry @ 7/2 each way.

I’ve got a couple of fancies at Kelso in Cultram Abbey and Caventara….. but there are a few doubts about the latter, so I am just plonking for one today….

    NE14UKGGS….

    2.15 Kelso… Cultram Abbey…. LOST….

It is always such a surprise to me MrE of how more optimistic I feel when that long awaited winner comes along and how I feel the corner has been turned breaking a losing run.

As you know I have avoided domestic racing at all cost but this thread is headed other strange places and some UK postings being put up I have been tempted when finding a fresh supply of tips, to me that is, one being at Huntingdon today which is well known for being a fair track and so I have chucked a Dingo Dollar at : –
    TOP NOTCH in the 2.00 race. . . . . WON 15/8

I know very little regarding UK/domestic racing these days but Matron suggested I consider dipping my toe into our winter AW racing.

I am so out of touch being the reason I started this with the disclaimer but what I do know is Godolphin is an excellent outfit, Charlie Appleby is a very good trainer and James Doyle is a top class rider.

When the triple combination is supported as favourite on the opening show I cannot help but dig out some of them Dingo Dollars:-

    Lingfield 1.00 STORY of LIGHT @ 10/11 . . . . . 2nd = LOST!

FLAMINGO PARK, South Africa is not a place I know much about other than they are holding a meeting tomorrow and Race 3 intrigues me insomuch as LADY CLEMENTINE will most likely be favourite, if not then it must be ATWAAR. I cannot decide on the expected winner but a small reverse forecast could be the answer.

I truly can’t say Newcastle is a strange place because I have never been there but what is strange is Ladbrokes continue to give me free bets and who am I to say no when such generous offers come my way.

    Newcastle 4.45 LEZARDRIEUX each way at 100/30 . . . . WON

Yahoo!!!…. it’s really great to see you back lighting up a dark forum again Bill my lad, but stuff me, (to use a metaphor), your certainly waving it around a bit…. from a vague stab at Aussie races, we are now into South Africa and the UK. Thinking about it, your probably on the correct path mate, if you throw 100 pebbles into the air, your bound to catch 3….. taking that a step further, the selections are so diverse, they look prime targets for some small multiples, perhaps place trebles or place accy’s….

Being housebound for the present MrE with this wretched flu’ leaves with little else to do other than wander around some other strange places.

South Africa: – I decided to reverse forecast LADY CLEMENTINE/ATWAAR but using up what maybe the last of my free bets I could not see how to do it and so I decided to bet both as the prices could stand it, so fingers crossed.

My Australian adventure continues but only just, search hard as I may I was unable to find a selection at ARARAT but eventually uncovered one at the only other meeting of the day at WAGGA WAGGA being famous for turning out some international cricketers including the legendary Aussie captain Mark Taylor. WAGGA has a population of about 55K and the temperatures there reach there peak throughout December, January and February with recorded highs of 45 degrees with 9/10 hours of sunshine daily. Looking at the real estate you certainly get more for your buck and can expect 4 beds, 2 baths plus garaging for 2 and sometimes 3 cars comfortably within 250,000 sterling.

    I turned up AZARAY @ 13/8 with Unibet in race 6 . . . .WON 6.50

If you like the odds on shorties there are two at ARARAT which may be of interest: – Race 1 ANAMAGIC & Race 3 FLYING BANJO. From a personal viewpoint I have found the shorties disappointing and get turned over far too easily.

There you are MrE that should be my wanderings over for today and now for a lie down with more anti-biotics

PS. Laddies gave me beggar all with the freebies on LULU’S DESTINY & ONE MORE SAPHIRE when the results went their way.

Good morning my favourite little cuddly koala….. I hope the sniffles and drippy nose soon pass, plenty of hot coffee laced with a drop of rum will make things more bearable mate (hahaha…. koala and bearable, tickled me). I wish you the best of luck with your foray into the nether regions of the universe…. Matron was always a tad fond of a fondle in the nether regions, but it’s funny, I never have found out quite where that region is in our galaxy…. and I’m an avid Star Trek fan…. I must see if I can look up his Nebula…..
OK, back down to Earth, well, Scotland anyway….

    1.15 Muss… Benny’s Secret…. 2nd… LOST….
    1.45 Muss… Defi Sacre…. WINNER @ 2.22….

    MrE

The “saver” did the job today and saved our stakes…. so we stand still again…..

Never mind the nether regions MrE I don’t think I will take part in any more safaris within South Africa after the disaster about LADY CLEMENTINE & ATWAAR.

Thank goodness for the generosity of Ladbrokes but perhaps their Spratt to catch a Mackerel methods works with others but certainly not with me.

I am starting to get the hang of it Nathan but as yet won nothing.

I got the price right about STORY OF LIGHT which collapsed after I gambled and took the 10/11 but sadly so did the run ending 2nd.

Yeah, funny old game…. I aint going anywhere fast either, one step backward and then one step forward and we end up in the same place.
With all your different areas of play, you should gain something, even if it’s just satisfaction….. the idea of throwing a handful of wheat into the air is for you to let the chaff blow away and you catch all the wheat….. but I think you moved your hands and dropped the lot…. a bit like the English cricketers…..
Give it a fresh start tomorrow….

Steps, back and forth eh MrE sound a bit like Strictly Come Dancing but try as hard as I may I simply do not see you in Lycra & Sequins but perhaps a little spray tan maybe.

I have been blown away by LEZARDRIEUX winning at Newcastle today because the idea came from a little off the wall thinking which I shall try again tomorrow but is an innovation of our Australian system and combined with that of one of our domestic tools.

Happy days but also early ones and so I must not get ahead of myself.

I am disappointed having checked the information sources to find nothing of interest for Tuesday.
