So January is done and dusted for the Aussie racing so lets see how we did.
I started using an angle from R&S Worksheets on the 7th of January and using a 100 point bank and betting a 1 point stake on each selection or 1% of the bank.
By the 12th Jan the profit was 32.82 points. I started posting the selections on here on the 13th Jan. The good times continued rising to a high of 49.21 points profit on 22nd Jan.
From the 23rd to 26th there was a down turn and ended on the 26th Jan with a profit of 33.31. So in the period of posting the profit was 33.31 – 32.82 = 0.49 points.
I altered the system by not including Maiden races but modified it to look at all races and exclude any races with first timers running, trying to avoid too many surprises.
Not sure if it made much difference apart from there being less selections. So far between 27th and 31st Jan (5 days), there have been 33 selections 12 winners 36% strike rate and a loss of 3.37 points.. The strike rate is almost the same as the period between 7th and 26th Jan 38%.
First day of February with shedloads of meetings equals shedloads of selections, 27.

It appears that I may have jumped the gun a little concerning Ukky Bets…. I only started posting them on the 27th Jan, so that’s 5 days and I find us in profit by 8pts… 8pts in just 5 days is magic, so dare I hope that we might have something to compliment our Aussie bets… I hope so.
I really like to get a couple of months under my belt before I put decent money on them, but I think they are still worth a few shillings… so, whilst Ozzy’s Bets are the main bets for this thread, I will keep posting the Ukky selections under Playtime until such times as I think them proofed….MrE

It is sad to read Tom Marquand had a bad fall at Randwick where the horse could not be saved and he is in hospital after riding two winners at the meeting.

A hint, perhaps a hunch, well something but it is very early to say if it is workable but maybe something to keep an eye on.
Talking of eyes I am in trouble with mine and this is hard work so I shall be quick.
FEBRUARY 1st being the start of a clean sheet but sods law it was a Saturday. I did not post because of the aforesaid reason but I ended the day with a 10pt. loss. I HATE SATURDAYS!
As you pointed out to me MrE our quest is directed towards the shorties.
Certainly my better priced choices do not do very well but quite the reverse with the shorties, in fact the shorter the better, although I still passed those at odds-on and yet some do drift and then I miss them.
Frustrated as I was yesterday, 4 of 5 picks were odds-on, the other one lost by the way.
Frustrated and fed up I decided to bet the shorties but by way of a change I took bet 365’s Tote Sp which does allow for drifters, as close as I can find to the likes of BOG.
4 winners, not at level stakes I hasten to add, 3 of the 4 at enhanced stakes.
I clawed back 3.2pts. of Saturdays loss and I am not over the moon but I can say at least optimistic of getting my 10pts back.
I have not looked at Monday’s meetings and will be the very first to acknowledge this as just one day and hardly qualifies as the only way forward but I suggest it could possibly be something to watch.

Monday in Australia.
A complicated sequence of selections with non of the odds-on types I intended to look out for but there is one which may qualify to Fill Your Boots and for February I am adding a system or perhaps creating a hybrid of the two I already have. Do you understand? Not really? Nor do I but I will try to come to grips throughout the month.

It all went so horribly wrong but thank goodness FREE RIDER eased the pain.My prices are all via bet365, there are better available for some but not all, maybe a little bit of Swings & Roundabouts but bet365 has the Australian version of BOG.
+++STAR ALIBI looks to be a Fill Your Boots option and is the Hyped Horse and is worthy of serious consideration, whilst BLACKADDER get’s a double nod.

I read through the above posts and think that your on the right course regarding prices….. but I think that this puts both of us on exactly the same wavelength because we studied the Aussies together. Those 5 that you mentioned are EXACTLY the same as my selections today and I can’t help but think that we are now walking down the same road.As you already know, I have so much work on with the horses, a break is inevitable…. and it’s absolutely pointless both making the same selections, so I am dropping the OZZY’S BETS selections, that’ll relieve my workload…. I will however, continue with UKKY BETS until such times as they go tits up….

Quite the reverse for myself MrE, I decided to drop the domestic scene until the turf flat is well under way so let’s hope we have both made to correct decisions. I just hope you did not make the same selections as I did yesterday, which all turned out to be rotters.
By dropping the domestic racing it is allowing me to up the anti in Australia, I think dropping the UK was made easy for me this weekend by not being able to find any selections.
