How strange life can be Nathan. I forget somethings and I remember other things. The problem as you describe is certainly one I can remember (fondly) but is of no use to me now. They were happy days for sure.

January 7, 2020 at 17:13 #1479182Politically incorrect Nathan, I do understand the more modern day terminology is CO-JOINED rather than Siamese.
That said, no matter what may have been pointed out to you it is possible or perhaps just kindred spirits.
No matter what is said it is a fact we do share some aspects of this betting game, such as a dislike for long losing runs and prefer to win rather than lose money, although I must defer to MrE as being better at it than myself. It is also a fact we have been of assistance to each other via a few months of determined effort, I think we have both worked with others from this and other forums which may or not have been productive and I think it does show that when ideas are openly shared there is progress to be made and if I am to be critical of punters en-mass it is such unwillingness that can hold us back for fear our ideas and endeavours will be stolen.

January 7, 2020 at 20:16 #1479195I would agree with Bill about the secretive nature of too many people nowadays, it wasn’t always like that but maybe I was naive back then.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysJanuary 7, 2020 at 22:51 #1479207it can only help if we put our ideas / tips forward…. if we can get this to prove positive, others may join in.
The thing that the younger ones have to find out for themselves is that nothing works forever, there is ALWAYS a need for fresh input. Both Bill and myself have been spending a lot of hours on these Aussie bets and I mean lots…. I have records going back to August and me and Bill have tweaked our approaches since then, Bill has found his way and I have my ideas, but we still converse about our different ways. In the past, that would have been done on here so that everyone could join in, but I’ve watched the forum shrivel up and die, nobody wants to play any more. As profitable as we are now, it will change over a period of time, it might last 12 months, maybe even 18 months, but as the odds get tighter, and they will, then we will need a different approach…. there’s a fair chance the both of us clowns will have given up the ghost by then, there’s only so much that we can do to raise the dead, but at least we have tried.
I have swallowed so much in my lifetime of betting, it will be a shame to let it go to waste… I’m willing to help and share, but there’s nobody here that is remotely interested, is it any wonder that we last about a month and then bugger off to sunnier climes…. if anybody wants to succeed at this game, they have to work as a team because betting is forever fluid, what works now will probably die a slow death by next January…. living and making profits from betting is always in flux, it’s constant change and one, two or even three people can’t do it on their own, it’s the nature of the game…. if it was straightforward, the bookies would cease to exist.

January 7, 2020 at 23:06 #1479209Bill…. I’m unsure exactly what to think of Nathan and his comments about his personal sex life…. it really matter nothing to me that he has difficulty maintaining an erection, that problem seems to happen if you over indulge in fantasies, that, I suspect, is Nathan’s cause for lack of arousal.
I haven’t mentioned anything to the others because Matron would be furious, so keep this to youself, I don’t want the forum knowing Nathan’s business….. but I suspect that Nathan might be partaking in more than his fair share of Bone Smoking…. not that there’s anything wrong with that if it is part of your forte, but the fact that he appears to be trying to prove his masculinity, makes me a tad wary. If you take my advice Bill, as a mate, if you drop the soap, leave it where it is, it’s safer to just use water…..

January 8, 2020 at 10:57 #1479225There are some interesting schools of thought with regard to non-participation about some system ideas but I do think it may be too much for some readers to digest racing when it is the other side of the world and there is limited information available and the jargon is very different to what we are accustomed. It is easier to ignore the place but when such outfits as The Boys in Blue are sitting up and taking notice there really must be something of value worth noting.
I reality it does not stand much of a chance when a big percentage of domestic punters do not get involved in the Irish scene let alone venture across the channel to France. My only reason to take interest is perhaps because I have son who lives there and have been lucky enough to have visited there on several occasions but mainly because I do not like our winter racing conditions and (smoke permitting) I can enjoy FLAT racing on good ground until our winter has passed. Each to their own.

January 8, 2020 at 19:34 #1479260AW racing tomorrow comes from Newcastle & Chelmsford. As is my way I do look up some of the places and now and again I learn something and so first off I checked out Newcastle where I found so much of interest it is impossible to enter it all here. Then comes Chelmsford in my county of Essex and the first line read, “There are not many places of interest in Chelmsford” which some’s up Essex as what I have always believed – bloody boring!
NOBLE BEHEST – 12.15 Newcastle @ 7/4
ROCA MAGICA – 4.30 Chelmsford @ 5/2 . . . . . . . WON 4/1

January 9, 2020 at 10:23 #1479302Morning Michael…. Billy hasn’t woken up yet, then he needs time to eat his cornflakes before putting his teeth in, so he spend a lot of time sucking…. no doubt he will be with us shortly.
Billy, my little marsupial, I’m getting a lot of n/runners lately, possibly because of the present conditions Down Under, so I may look at the selections again later in the evening and check if they are still running…. if they are scratched, I’ll try and replace it (if there is another choice)…. dunno, we’ll see if it’s feasible….

MrE try the American racing for a change.January 9, 2020 at 11:02 #1479311WAKEY WAKEY! When I was a little lad Billy Cotton used to shout this out at the start of his radio show, yes indeed, we did not have the one eyed monster sitting in the corner, perhaps mum and dad could not afford one and when they did they had insurance against the tube blowing. Ah, happy days.
I am afraid both MrE and Nathan know me and my routine too well but you are spot on gents, although it is Brylcream rather than gel which hold the ever thing thatch in place.
It is a GOOD day today, truly it is.
How good it is to see a post from Michael, I am so pleased.
They were dark days when I stopped posting both here and The Horse Box when suffering what Winston Churchill called his Black Dog and despite still lurking on the fringes of my existence I try hard not to allow it into the final years which I hope will continue to be peaceful ones.
So. How are you Michael? Well I trust and please pass my best wishes to your loyal regulars at The Horse Box.
I would love to extend this idea to such places as Meydan, Happy Valley and across the pond to USA but I now realise Australia (during our winter) and domestic summer racing is plenty to keep me going without it being a burden.
I have two for Friday in Australia: –
HARD LADY – Race 5 Port Macquarie @ 5/4
VERSETTO – Race 2 Sunshine Coast @ 7/5
