    I’m on Kylemore Lough at 12/1 EW. I think he’s potentially a Grade 1 winner over 2m 5f.

Nicholls: “Silviniaco Conti is not going make it to the Ascot Chase”

    One down.

Bristol De Mai runs at Newbury so not Ascot for him. Two down.

Traffic Fluide runs in the Game Spirit? Three down.

Is Cue Card really going to run? He’s had 3 runs this year already and he’s 11 years old. He might still be feeling the effects from Haydock.

Vaniteux isn’t top class. Don’t think Josses Hill is either. Taquin Du Seuil also no. Irish Cavalier + Vibrato Valtat definitely not.

Royal Regatta a bit of an Ascot specialist. Might be worth getting on those 16s EW now while it’s a 1-2-3 race.

Tenor Nivernais probably a bit overs at 50/1.

    Nicholls knows.

“Vibrato Valtat – He’d obviously be an outsider (in the Ascot Chase) but I can just see the race cutting up.

I do love it when you dismiss one of my horses Zark.Well done on having the foresight to spot what could be a completely false market as I have a sneaky feeling ‘Cue card’ could miss this and go straight to Cheltenham like he did last year,I certainly hope so anyway as I can keep topping up on the 10’s for a while longer. My idea of the winner that you obviously dont give much hope too is Taquin du Seuill.I cant believe this fellow is 14/1,if the race was tomorrow and the whole field turned up he’s a certainty to place.I reckon there could be less than 8 runners come Saturday so I’ve gone and took a typical TAPK chance and had £50 e/w with Bet365 that Jonjo runs him in this very weak Grade 1….Should ‘Cue card’ not turn up my fellow goes off 5/1…. B-) B-) B-)

I quite like Taquin Du Seuil, but not for this race and not at this track. He’s won all his 6 chases going left-handed and hasn’t run right-handed since 2012. He finished 2nd at the track behind My Tent Or Yours, but that was virtually a match in a novice hurdle. Most likely he will be kept for “something else”, though trip and ground will be okay for him.
Right now I can only think of this being a 6-7 runner affair at it’s best. Just hoping that Tenor Nivernais (50/1) and Royal Regatta (14/1) will take their place in a rather weak race. Traffic Fluide, Vibrato Valtat and Bristol De Mai won’t be going. Don’t think that Nicky will run two in the race, Camping Ground is just too weak over fences and I’m also not afraid of any Rebecca Curtis horses. Just tempted to go with the above mentioned two, not that much on form, but on their EW chances.

Cue Card is the best horse in the race but I don’t think that two and a half miles around Ascot is enough of a test for him these days. Josses Hill all day in this.

Joe Tizzard was saying Cue Card was running here to ‘sharpen’ him up for the Gold Cup
Sounds like a training in public job

Yet again streets ahead of the market. Can’t wait for him to be withdrawn during the week to **** me over again after Consul De Thaix last week.

That isn’t looking like a bad bet at all right now if anybody’s on (I’m not).

Really does look like a two horse race, Kylemore Lough vs Cue Card. I thought KL would be 4/1 after I saw the decs so 7/1 still very generous IMO.

Sorry, just realised I said I’m on EW. I’m not, I’m on win only.

We’re down to 7 runners already Zark and I can still see ‘Cue card’ missing this. We’ll see then if you can lace my left boot without over-thinking about it. :rose:

He sure is Zark, 10/1 too,if he was protecting his handicap mark for something like the ‘Advisory Plate’ then he could well go to Haydock,if he’s going for the Ryanair then he goes to Ascot. My line of thinking is he’s 10yo now and on Soft ground could win a Grade 1….Ascot it is then.Prize money for finishing 2nd here is worth £10k more than winning at Haydock so we’ll just have to see.’You pays your money and makes your choice’.Good luck with yours you’ve snaffled the price and I admire that.

Cue card – could be too sharp for him
    Kylemore Lough – chances
    Total regatta – chances
Taquin De Suill – think he goes Haydock
Traffic Fluide – Probably not good enough
Shantou Flyer – not good enough
Irish Cavalier – Talented. Could pop up in a race like this at decent odds.

Will play on the day. Would’ve been very interested in josses hill over this distance. Will see how the ground is Saturday but may take a speculative each way punt on Irish Cavalier at 25/1
