Obviously, the Irish are going to be tough to beat but I’ve taken a bit of the 33s about Edwardstone each-way.
A very good hurdler, if a stone or so below the best, he is built to make a chaser and was unlucky on his seasonal reappearance, being brought down when about to pounce and travelling all over For Pleasure.
He met no such misfortune next time and bolted up; there is a possibility that connections might go for the Grand Annual instead but I can see him hitting the frame here with the guaranteed strong pace set by Third Time Lucki, Rivière d’Etel and others sure to play into his hands.
November 27, 2021 at 13:08 #1569386I think I’d take edwardstone in a match bet with third time lucki
That should be good enough for 4th behind the irish though
November 27, 2021 at 13:30 #1569395Edwardstone wont beat Third Time Lucki. Because he’s more likely for the Grand Annual
December 5, 2021 at 14:48 #1570845Ferny Hollow 11-2
December 5, 2021 at 16:41 #1570867Do BF/PP still do boosts Mike?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 5, 2021 at 16:46 #1570868BF yep.
December 11, 2021 at 11:24 #1571830Blue Lord is my first bet here, 40s with Coral, 25s elsewhere. Significant perhaps that Townend has returned in a beginners chase.
December 11, 2021 at 11:57 #1571847Still 25s after the race
Happy to take that
Thought he jumped very well
Hopefully fences are the making of him
December 11, 2021 at 12:28 #1571863surely now appreciate it or ferny hollow will be stepped up in trip
December 11, 2021 at 12:39 #1571867I was of the opinion they’d be split up anyway
Ferny didnt exactly jump like an arkle horse the other day
And now that he settles a bit better 2m4f should be fine
Be interesting to see how willie shuffles the pack
He could have 2 or 3 in each novice chase
December 11, 2021 at 12:45 #1571871It would be a poor arkle if blue Lord won it
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 11, 2021 at 13:16 #1571886“It would be a poor arkle if blue Lord won it”.
Yes, I think it might be a poor Arkle, that’s why I backed him. Appreciate It got on a racecourse quite late, then spent a season in bumpers…why? I just wonder whether they think he will only stand so much racing over obstacles. He’s a big beast and it’s possible his action over a fence might be more “Carefully Selected” than “Un de Sceaux”. Ferny obviously has a huge engine but has had injury problems too and was pretty chancy at hurdles.
December 11, 2021 at 17:29 #1571952I think Blue Lord is much more likely to have improvement in his than Appreciate It. He’d have to have a fair bit of improvement to bridge the gap, but the way he raced he took a lot out of himself early doors, if he learns to settle better he has a very nice engine.
Jumped like an Arkle horse today, but then Townend did comment that he thought he’d step up in trip as the season goes on..

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 11, 2021 at 17:58 #1571956He was just too keen last season in almost every race to do himself justice
It looks a very weak bunch of novice hurdlers going chasing bar appreciate it and he was going to be clear second best in the supreme before falling despite pulling too hard
Be interesting to see where they go next
December 20, 2021 at 15:55 #1573451Still no sign of an entry for appreciate it on 26th or 27th
This keeps going on much longer he might end up in the champion hurdle
December 21, 2021 at 13:47 #1573619Trainer Willie Mullins said: “Appreciate It will be out of training for a couple of weeks and because it would mean a late start to his chasing career in terms of this season, we’ve decided on a hurdling campaign when he is ready to return.”
Called it
December 21, 2021 at 14:38 #1573631Yeh saw the newsflash earlier. Adds a bit of spice to the CH. Appreciate It an honorable 2nd? ;o)
