Charles Darwin to conquer the World
February 13, 2016 at 17:03 #1233533L’Ami Serge is well over rated and if he wins the Arkle I’ll run up and down the street naked and post the video on here.
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
February 13, 2016 at 17:53 #1233538I can imagine Douvan and UDS sititng in the stable having a right laugh at todays racing
February 13, 2016 at 18:06 #1233539Henderson is pathetic.
It’s little surprise to anyone that he holds the record for UK racing of having the shortest price horse getting beat which was zaynar 1/12.
I will completely avoid Henderson at the festival over fences. Not too keen over the hurdles either to be honest.
The horse I feel most sorry for is sprinter sacre. Would of probably mopped up if he was with Mullins or even anyoneFebruary 13, 2016 at 21:30 #1233554Dire effort from L’Ami Serge. Jacob not the sort of jock you want in the saddle when you are playing catch-up an early stage. Too often just looks feeble. Question of time before he gets the boot.

Did you see how L’Ami came over the last Stilvi?
In my opinion ran asthough something amiss, nothing to do with his jockey.Value Is EverythingFebruary 13, 2016 at 21:43 #1233556Henderson is pathetic.

Un De Sceaux would’ve been Champion Hurdler but for Mullins.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 13, 2016 at 22:18 #1233558Sprinter Sacre would have still had the heart issue no matter what trainer he was with but if with Mullins he would have only made one appearance in the UK and that would have been in the QMCC.
Not sure I agree that UDS would have won a Champion Hurdle (ground would probably not been soft enough for him that year) but he would have been in the shake up no doubt.
Personally think L’Ami Serge was overrated anyway (he won two egg and spoon races at relatively soft chasing courses) and the excuses given in the Supreme hid the fact that this is a specialist soft ground horse who simply wasn’t quick enough to hold a position on quicker ground (good to soft) at Cheltenham. Should redirect him to the JLT (the longer trip will help his jumping) even though owners have Bristol De Mai in the race.
No such thing as a sure thing but surely now Douvan will have to have several wheels fall off to taste defeat at this stage!
February 14, 2016 at 00:43 #1233571There is not a cat’s chance in hell L’Ami Serge ran to form today.
But I’m done with the Arkle as a betting race :D just have to hope Garde la Victoire turns up to give me a runner
February 14, 2016 at 01:11 #1233575As mentioned on the Warwick thread, Kingmaker is a graveyard for Arkle hopes. Even at that, the horse was beaten far too far out and must have been amiss. Henderson is taking some slating on forums and on social media, and I do feel for the guy. Always found him open with the media and likeable, and I just can’t have it that the man who trained 7 Festival winners in 2012 loses all his skill in four years.

In my opinion ran asthough something amiss, nothing to do with his jockey.Unfortunately, I saw how he tackled plenty of the fences. Neither horse or jockey gave out a confident air from an early stage. He clearly needed galvanising almost immediately and Jacob was unable to do that. Perhaps there was something wrong, perhaps on the day the horse effectively just didn’t want to know and cried enough? My comments were a reflection of Jacob in general. He is riding some pretty good horses and I don’t believe he has ever been up to the job. Switch the jockeys in last year’s Triumph and I think you get a different result. Perhaps Bristol De Mai will give him a temporary reprieve but he will be under a good deal more pressure in a much bigger field at Cheltenham.
February 14, 2016 at 14:37 #1233632Have to say I was a big fan of Jacob and thought that when he joined Nicholls he would get elevated to the next level but he seemed to either choke or bottled it and the whole episode with Big Bucks really painted him in a poor light for me.
February 15, 2016 at 12:15 #1233747Let’s hope Ar Mad turns up
February 15, 2016 at 16:57 #1233791Violet dancer out for season.
February 15, 2016 at 17:10 #1233794Ar Mad now looking the EW nap of the festival. Could well beat Douvan imo

Calm yourself. Place – yes. beat Douvan no (barring a fall).
He still jumped right too and that was under no pressure.
February 15, 2016 at 19:37 #1233814Does anyone know whether ALISIER D’IRLANDE is likely to run in this?
