Hi Seagull – I was wondering about this day

There are 4 definite losers on this day which equates to a loss of £150 and not £310 as you state.

However, the 3:45 at Newmarket may also qualify due to unusual circumstances and I was wondering is this the 5th race which would make the loss of £310 correct.

In this race, 2 horses were withdrawn from the 10 that went down to the stalls which resulted in 8 runners going to post. One of the withdrawn horses was the favourite in the betting. If you write “Unnamed Favourite” on your slip does your bet then roll onto the shortest priced horse remaining or is it void as the result on the RP (is this a representation of the official result?) shows no favourite as such. The shortest priced horse remaining actually came second which would make the loss of £310 correct but it’s an unusual one.

you have the facts 100% correct. There were 5 losers and not 4 that day.

Zellot was the fav on betfair but was withdrawn.

I had £160 on Respite which was the shortest priced horse the moment that I could hear that Zellot was a non runner.
It came 2nd.

There were no other races that day that fitted the filters and the day cost me £310.00.

What were the starting banks Seagull (I know they’re in the thread somewhere!)?

The profit/loss figures do not include any money from an original bank.
They are the sums won.

On the non handicaps up to 9 runners that I have been doing again the £579 is total profit at official s.p. prices.

(It is actually £715.45 after commision as I use betfair but to make the ‘system’ as fair and honest as possible I have only claculated prices at the official s.p.. Some of Mraks prices are slightly above the official s.p and some a fraction lower as often the prices get ‘clipped’ when they win.Again I have only calculated the prices at S.P.)

Latest update.
Mark now has Virgin Media Broadband installed and a nice P.C. he has joined betfair and sent all his K.Y.C. (know your customer) details in.

He has yet to use it!

He has found a Coral’s shop close to a High Street bank where he is a customer.
