Gord i am from London but it is a top drink.
Boz i like your taste in horses but not drinks it is not vile my old china.
Also boz Gord got around to answering your question on the oxx horse from weekend though i had to ask him more than once.
Aye Darren thank you I had spotted, like Gord said you’re quite the terrier
IfMy Titania
possesses any of her sire’s qualities, which in watching her I believe she may well do, her transformation from 2 to 3 will be marked. I can see her chewing up and spitting out the Rowley Mile as this batch of juvenile fillies don’t look owt special to me and as respectful as I am of our Gordie’s judgement I can’t have the O’Brien filly for the Guineas. 25s looks a fair price right now for the Oxx horse and believe me if I could afford to I’d be on yesterday. I take it you’re a fan also Darren?
September 12, 2013 at 07:10 #450947Fancy the chances of this
Thunderball
in the 4.25 at Donny today. Managed to grab a few quid at 11.5 on the machines last night and I’m expecting a big run.
September 12, 2013 at 16:23 #451005Well
Feel Like Dancing’s
chances in the Leger Saturday just about sum up my flat season perfectly in two words – non runner. Rather unusually unlike the British summer it’s been an absolute washout from start to finish. Every year I say to myself ‘Right let’s hold fire here until the proper stuff starts up again at the end of the year’, and every year I go against my better instincts for ‘a bit of interest’
I’d love to say I’ll take next summer off as well, but I’ll only tell myself that this year was another ‘learning curve’ and that I’ll be better prepared next summer. Ah well, I can’t be too downbeat, Cheltenham’s Showcase meeting takes place in just over a month, nothing spectular by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a sign that all is well in the world again. It’s National Hunt country my friends, and that’s when the gloves really come off
September 12, 2013 at 17:02 #451009By the way, I’m not sure where our Stevie(stevecaution) has been hiding lately, but being the leader of the fancy prices brigade for this
Excess Knowledge
for Saturday, he must be rattling like Muhammad Ali on a pneumatic drill
All the best Steve, wherever your are!September 12, 2013 at 21:04 #451036Boz how you think LEADING LIGHT will do am on at 12s hope he runs here instead of ireland
Also i like MY TITIANA as well be intresting to see how she do in group 3 next time out.

Darren I had previously said I had
Leading Light
down as a future Gold Cup horse and that he’ll make a better older horse. I am a little bit intrigued by the recent drift however, it all feels a bit cloak and dagger and I could quite easily picture him running away with the thing, followed by Aidan claiming that him and the boys always knew he was special
If I were to go in again it’d be on him but I wouldn’t be feeling too silly if I were ‘stevecaution’ right now either!September 14, 2013 at 10:40 #451209I like the look of the French card on Sunday. I like to try and back something against the big names, so as Treve has a big reputation and is a short priced favourite, i thought i’d have a punt on Penelopa at 11/1. She looks progressive.

Well in mate. It even went off fav.
September 16, 2013 at 13:15 #451467I feel the end is nigh for yet another summer of doom and gloom. With under three weeks until the Arc and just over a month until British Champions Day at Ascot, I feel it’s about time a new name joined my long term vision, my 2014 Cheltenham portfolio. These names I put forth will unite in the best four days of any sporting calendar next March and show themselves to be true superstars of their craft.
Now then, back to business. As Tommy(THM) so often eludes to, the firepower coming out of Ireland this year, and in particular the Willie Mullins stable, is surely as strong in quality and strength in depth as it’s ever been, it’s frightening. The Albert Bartlett is a race that, although still in it’s relative youth, has seen it’s fair share of Irish raiders stealing it’s crown over recent years. This is a race that requires a certain type of animal, an all out stayer that quite often offers no thrills but is as tough as old boots. This is one of the festival’s rare novice events in which Willie hasn’t had any joy over the years, but I’ve seen enough in his stamina laden novice
Moyle Park
to set that record straight. The lad showed his class and grit in a decent bumper at Punchestown earlier in the year, refusing to be passed and showing the kind of stubborn ruthlessness I like in a staying novice. He’s set for big things as he tackles timber this term, and I fancy his chances in the potato race with Ruby on board. Done myself a mischief by missing the 33s Boyles offered me a couple of months back, but there’s support behind this fella which can only mean good things.

September 17, 2013 at 14:57 #451581Who’d of thought that Yarmouth would be my next step in trying to reign in my summer of doom and gloom, yet tomorrow that’s exactly where I’ll be looking. I’ve been tracking the progress of the James Fanshawe filly
Ribbons
for some time now, and tomorrow she’s upped to listed class and I fully expect her to triumph. Tomorrow also sees the debut of a half brother to
Nathaniel
and
Great Heavens
in John Gosden’s
Throne Room
. He’s sired by
Oasis Dream
so is bound to possess more speed than his siblings and is definitely worth a watch. Sir Michael Stoute’s
Munaaser
also starts his career in the same race and he’s another that could be set for a decent career. He may need the run but both could be worth keeping an eye on in the long run.

Ribbons
I speak of is a very nice progressive type and is potentially in a different league to her rivals tomorrow. With the extra furlong another plus I’ll be disappointed if she proves me wrong.

September 18, 2013 at 10:35 #451647Many people have short memories in this game and the unbelievable 16/1 knocking about for
Al Kazeem
in the Arc is a fine example of this. Watching him in his last couple of races it looks to me like he’s crying out for 12 furlongs on softer ground. I make him a massive player at a massive price, he’ll be half that on the day!

If this was a boxing match it would of been stopped by now. What can I say, roll on the jumps!September 20, 2013 at 16:45 #451878Down but not out I refuse to be beaten in my crusade on the long hard summer. For those of you just viewing for the first time I can assure you, the vast chunk of my ‘red numbers’ are down to pending Cheltenham vouchers, so although admittedly the flat season has bitten me a bit, it’s by no means as bad as it initially appears

Right, a nice easy way to get some money back now by tackling the small matter of the Ayr Gold Cup. As I sit in work(a bookies for those who don’t know) bored and alone on those long quiet nights, I often feel the need to spend my time picking apart a race, and where better to start than tomorrow. The Bronze Cup earlier was a huge clue and cemented the general consensus that a high draw is required to win this. A fair few of the principals have ended up drawn there, but I can’t help but find myself drawn to what seems to be the forgotten horse of the race,
Mass Rally
. He’s got a plum draw, will go on the ground and has course form from the Silver Cup last year. What left me shocked was that the firm I work for, the lowly Corbettsports, go top price on this fella as well as paying five places. I had to get my bet on while I’m here – don’t tell the boss!

September 20, 2013 at 17:44 #451884Boz i agree on MASS RALLY i had a bet on CAPTAIN RAMIUS as well at 16s
Any thoughts on silver cup i had this race the plan for
TAKE COVER ran a cracker at goodwood on fast enough ground. won most races on Fibresand at Southwell a shame not more rain for it but think he go close.September 20, 2013 at 17:57 #451887Any thoughts on silver cup i had this race the plan for

Admittedly I haven’t had a chance to look at the race properly, but at a quick glance he’s the one I’d want to be on if I was getting involved.
September 28, 2013 at 14:55 #452784Time to play once again. This batch of 2 year old fillies are highly underwhelming. One or two seem over precocious, over raced and very unlikely to bring their juvenile form forward to the classics next year. The French pair also hardly appear to be superstars and I’ll take their victories in the last couple of days with a pinch of salt. Nothing from Ballydoyle has caught my eye either, although ol’ Gordy seems awful keen on this
Tapestry
she’s no classic winner for me. She’ll presumably train on but I’m not having her for Newmarket at all. Now then, the early progeny of a certain
Sea The Stars
have shown one or two similarities to the great one himself, they’re certainly not star 2 year olds and he wasn’t that! One who really has caught my eye is this
My Titania
, she really does share plenty of her sire’s finer qualities and will follow right in his footsteps by coming back a top class 3 year old and storming to victory up the Rowley Mile on May 4th. The best two 3 year old fillies next year will come from Ireland, mark my words, but John Oxx trains the Guineas winner
