@mimrob
I see that
Menadati
has an entry on the
27th
at Lingfield in a class 6 handicap, I still have him
15lb
better than my class 6 par of
58
It was nice to see Amy Weaver’s
Sandy lane
just win at 3/1, who I had as a
+19
improver, I occasionally get something right

Working out the going allowance for today’s meeting took some thought, it didn’t help matters that the best race on the card the 4.15 which was (class 2) handicap, was flag started and run at a modest pace
Looking at the speed figures returned for the first 3 home in 4.45, made me think that my going allowance for today’s meeting at
+0.28
per furlong, should have been slightly higher, in the end I could not justify raising it further
December 27, 2012 at 09:16 #424324My form figures have the race looking like this. The figures are from the horses last run. The figures in brackets are the highest of their last six races. Menadati can defintely be rated higher for its last run.
Menadati has Catlin on board today, he is 11-81 for Hiatt at Lingfield and 7-42 when the yard have just the one runner..

What can I say about Amy Weaver’s
Sandy Lane
who sits in the Improver’s list at

+16
and now
+8
, a return to 7f will see him in better light
The year is coming to an end and I have resigned myself to the fact that it is very unlikely that I will ever record a going allowance on a
Polytrack
surface riding
standard to slow
It was already pointed out to me by a board member, you have to go back to
December 2010
the last time the going allowance at Wolverhampton was
standard to slow
, which I recorded at
-0.17
per furlong
So there you have it, Wolverhampton Polytrack today was riding
46lb
per furlong faster than it was in December 2010
How’s that for a useless piece of info

moves him into the top ten on the AW speed figure list after the going correction
Woolfall Sovereign

Improver’s to note were
Alnoomaas +3
and
Lastkingofscotland +2
(5.20 Kempton).
The best performance from yesterdays three AW meetings was Luke Dace’s charge
Alnoomaas
, who beat top of the yesterdays speed figures
Lastkingofscotland
who bettered the class par by
9lbs
It was nice to see Alan Kings’s horse
Ishikawa
who was on the improver’s list win again and he continues to make steady progress
January 3, 2013 at 09:08 #425071Good work Blues Brother. Coup De Grace was a nice winner for your figures yesterday. Though he had only achieved 54, he was well clear of his field last night at Kempton. Interesting to note he only needed to achieve 46 last night to win.

It is not very often you will see 5 improver’s come out of a class 7 handicap but that’s what happened in the 4.35 Wolverhampton.
Hittin’The Skids
who I gave a special mention to the other day when landing a touch, was well and truly turned over by
Dhhamaan
, he must be followed on his next run as I have him
16lb
ahead of the handicapper
Joint top of the improver’s list
Bussa
went in again

January 3, 2013 at 19:13 #425118How do you manage to get your ratings updated so quickly. I spend ages on my form figures though I am almost doing them by hand save for a couple of macros.
All I use is a macro in Excel and then add to Excel table the official ratings plus my lbs. per length figures etc. to calculate the going allowances
When I have entered my speed figures into my account on the Racing Post’s website using the handicap tool, I then copy and paste the speed figures using another macro into an Excel sheet, I don’t type anything
