track staff have been harrowing their polytrack, the going allowance today of

+0.11

per furlong, is the slowest it has been in a long time

If anybody wanted to know the reason why I don’t use the weight for age allowance for 2yo and 3yo’s when compiling my speed figures, this is simply because the original WFA scale designed by

Admiral Rous

is so far out it frightens me, even the new revised Racing Post WFA scale isn’t accurate

My project for this year will be to produce an accurate WFA scale on a month by month or bimonthly basis

today that the Clerk of the Course at Wolverhampton, said that they have been working on the track and with the rain he expected the polytrack to ride on the slow side.

The going allowance at

-0.01

per furlong, is the slowest I have recorded at

Wolverhampton

in the past year

I have already stated, that all the

WFA

scales produced were inaccurate and this year I was going to put together my own

WFA

scale.

For example

have a 3yo in January

-6lb

inferior to a 4yo, so I did a quick calculation using my figures, I find that the 3yo’s are inferior to the older horses by

-12lbs
