Not better over hurdles! But not bad form any how.I think that race in Punchestown was one of the most competitive novice races run all season in Ireland, the race was full of winners and a heap of horses have came out and won 16wins-9 horses and 7 placed in around 10months.Also worth noting he bet Alle Garde around 8’s for this race 14L.
The runner up Mossey Joe, is rated by many shrewd judges as one of the best prospects in Ireland. Check the manner of his win on his hurdling debut at Cork when he beat Fists Of Fury and Askanna, I promise, you’ll never see anything like it again.
March 8, 2012 at 15:10 #395366No,Im pretty sure its the Oldest race at the festival!!
March 8, 2012 at 15:34 #395371looks fairly open. not sure I believe all the hype surrounding boston bob, purely at the prices i’d be inclined to take him on, perhaps with rocky creek.

Yes the NH Chase has a long history but under the current conditions is only a few years old. Before 2005 it was for novices that had not won a hurdle or bumper – a recipe for plots.
March 8, 2012 at 22:03 #395453This is the thread for the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle…
March 9, 2012 at 12:20 #395512I wish WM would just tell me if my Boston Bob bet is dead or not. I can’t take wathcing the exhanges all day to find out. I ws confident I had a chance yesterday, but now there’s no money for it at all in this, and its just been matched at 5 for the Neptune.
Just put me out of my misery man!!!

Willie Mullins won’t let on until the last minute. He’s like a football manager who doesn’t want to give his team selection away until he has to.
I’m convinced Boston Bob will run in The Neptune. The field is far weaker than the AB and the prize more desirable.
Other forecasts…….
Sir Des Champs goes for The Jewson
First Lieutenant goes for The RSA
Peddler’s Cross doesn’t run at The Festival
Grand Crus goes for The Gold Cup
Kauto Star doesn’t run
Thousand Stars goes for The Champion Hurdle (and finishes 2nd)March 9, 2012 at 13:40 #395531I’d love to stake a tenner that you get all of those bar First Lieutenant in the RSA wrong.

I’d say it’s even money he does, that’s how up in the air these plans are. But the absence of FL in the Jewson 5 day decs now leads me to think SDC is bound for that race. Mullins comment in the Weekender read to my eyes that this was the plan.

Aftertiming on FL
March 9, 2012 at 14:14 #395536How am I aftertiming?
March 9, 2012 at 14:19 #395538Shack, read that comment about SDC too and it gives me hope. I get the impression he wants to go RSA but will have to go Jewson with him.
I think the Jewson represents a nice race for him this year then step him up as a 7 year old next season.
Don’t think there was any doubt in FL going the RSA route.

Jeeeze you are a serious bugger !

I meant the First Lieutenant was already out of the Jewson when you posted your reply.
7 days weren’t up when I made my post.
BTW, what odds are you offering on an acc to the tenner that I get them all correct?

reading recent interviews and his comments at the preview night the other day, i’d say BB goes for the AB and SDC goes for the Jewson. I think Russell agrees on the latter, especially as Peddlers is a big negative.
Midnight Game didn’t work well the other morning but with that in the Supreme, then SLC in the Neptune and BB in the Bartlett, he has chances in all three. Keeping cards to his chest in case of injury.

No, didnt really think he would until a couple of folk said he may flip them. Whilst WPM’s entries are still there on the table, there’s always that element of uncertainty to say the least !
March 16, 2012 at 14:49 #397227Better ground won’t be a problem for Brindisi Breeze either
If Mullins sends Boston Bob to the Neptune, then i think i can whittle this down to a couple of runners now, with maybe an each way on the day as there’s a couple of potential improvers in here.
I’ll take that exacta thank you very much !!
