Seems a ‘ bold ‘ choice, in my opinion, given the trainers ‘ luck ‘ with some of his better horses in recent seasons.
January 14, 2014 at 18:14 #464923Sporting Life reports he will not go hurdling now but will wait until next season due to King’s string being under the weather.
Beaing aimed at an all weather marathonJanuary 14, 2014 at 18:38 #464924Should we be looking forward to Fergus Sweeney leathering him home on a Saturday night at Wolverhampton on his comeback after 18 months off ?
January 15, 2014 at 02:11 #464963Hardly bold, given the owner has had numerous horses with the trainer in the past.
In theory King has quite a few interesting horses in regards to the Festivals later. Will be interesting to see how many of them perform when they return. His December form was awful and no suprise to see the events in January based on the previous month.
Shame about Tiger Cliff. I believe First Mohican is still an intended hurdler this year at least.
January 15, 2014 at 12:43 #464977It was the same with King last season and he managed a festival handicap 1-2.
But he appears to struggle keeping his best horses fit and in form. If i had a horse with the dual purpose potential of Tiger Cliff, i wouldn’t be sending him to Alan King.
