Although like many other I’ve got concerns over the stable currently, I’ll have a bet on First Street ew if he runs here. I just think that it’ll be risky if I bet him just now, as I really could see him head to Ayr
April 9, 2024 at 21:59 #1689441MAHONS GLORY 100/1
Won a maiden hurdle here back in 2022 for the good silly doctor, only been seen 4 times since, twice in 3 mile grade 2 events when non-stayer. Scooted up in a 0-140 on Boxing Day and not been out again since. 100/1 looked a bit of a peastake in what is a fairly weak race for the grade.
Looks like he’ll be undone by the ground though but I don’t fancy touching anything else here.April 9, 2024 at 22:28 #1689442Back over hurdles this season with the distance and going I’m with Bob Olinger.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 10, 2024 at 00:01 #1689479Definitely happy to go with Luccia here, and was happy with 12’s
Luccia 12’s
April 10, 2024 at 10:22 #1689503Henderson yard is out of form, she probably won’t stay and she’ll probably pull too hard….
But sometimes the market over-compensates and it’s worth a bet.I’ve backed Luccia too VTC.
Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2024 at 10:59 #1689505The pace will be interesting here.
Bob will be dropped out.
Impaire ran poorly last time out when making the running so won’t do it again.
Luccia did make the running a couple of starts ago but is going up in trip, probably needs cover to settle and improved last time when held up.
Langer Dan is seemingly always held up in handicaps, presumably will again.
Maries Rock has never front run.
Nemean Lion has run well tracking the pace but is also effective from mid-div and connections might think they went for home too far out in the Champion.
So that leaves the two rank (both Gigginstown) outsiders, Beacon Lodge and Mahons Glory.
These two are not going to be good enough in a truly run race. So if slowly run: Althogh Bob has plenty of speed, turn of foots are less potent on very soft ground and will have a positional disadvantage… Does Impaire and Langer Dan have enough speed? Will Luccia pull too hard?
So it is in Gigginstown’s best interests to slow it right down. If I were them I’d allow Mahon’s Glory to go to the front and keep Beacon Edge back a bit trying to allow MG a few lengths head start in a sprint for home.
If the Lion or Impaire don’t push the pace then this could easily turn messy.
Don’t get me wrong, Bob and Impaire would still have the best chance of winning even in those conditions, but it just might give others a better chance than the form book / market suggests.Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2024 at 16:27 #1689537Easy to think with the silks that MAHONS GLORY is a Gigginstown hoss Ginge but he’s not. The colour is an ever so slightly different shade. I think all Giggins tops have a white strip on the sleeves regardless of amount of runners in a race, just the headgear that changes. I imagine that’s a rule abided by all.
April 10, 2024 at 17:25 #1689542Impaire Et Passe for me. He wins this no problem on everything but his Irish champion form and that was just poor tactics.
April 10, 2024 at 19:48 #1689564Nemean Lion 14s
April 10, 2024 at 19:52 #1689566I’d be pretty surprised if impaire et passe doesn’t win handily myself
But having not taken the 7/2-11/2 that was available short term antepost his current price doesn’t appeal
He drifts out to 2/1+ tomorrow il have a few quid on
April 10, 2024 at 19:58 #1689569Bob Olinger, Aintree rule is to play the horses that missed Cheltenham and I don’t see why the fav should reverse the form with him
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
April 11, 2024 at 00:53 #1689634Oops
Wondered why O’Leary had a horse with Patrick Neville. LOL
Thanks for putting me right Chivers.
Hopefully he can win for us today.

———————————————————I’ve always found it best not to take too much notice of what they’ve been ante-post when considering the day of race price FF. Sometimes when a horse is not thought a likely runner it can be a big price ante-post. Or sometimes it’s a rick that I’ve missed. Does not mean the “day of race” price is necessarily bad value, just not as good as it was.
Personally, if “I’d be pretty surprised if Impaire Et Passe doesn’t win handily”, I’d be taking anything odds against.
Value Is EverythingApril 11, 2024 at 11:37 #1689675Im happy to leave him at current prices
Having taken 20s on him for the arkle and turner’s next season I already want him to win
April 11, 2024 at 12:15 #1689686Luccia for me as well. Great run in the Champion Hurdle and not too convinced by both Impaire et Passe and Bob Ollinger.
Luccia 10/1.
April 11, 2024 at 12:25 #1689691Sorry FF, that sounded like a criticism.
Writing it too late at night. Just wanted to explain how I’d see it.
Fair enough.
