    KOMIREBI 7/1

While I think Constitution River is best horse in race that draw done him in

And looking at 2000 guineas again the selection so strong at the finish 2 extra furlongs suit him here.

I thought Constitution River was a cert until the draw came out.

Thrown a dart at stablemate Montreal 18-1 ew 4 places from a more favourable draw in the hope we’ve not seen the best of him yet.

Ryan Moore looked more vigorous in the saddle than the other Aidan jockeys at the furlong pole at first glance..

Team tactics (in the best way) employed to perfection – nobody else was allowed to got involved, they certainly picked the right race to run CR in and given the state he got in behind the stalls (sweating profusely under the saddle and a bit of foam around the mouth) he battled on really well but I am not sure he would be wanting another 2F.

Pleased that Montreal stepped forward from last time. As a pacemaker and sweaty in the prelims not beaten far at all.

Was on Montreal at 12/1 w/o Constitution River. Have had him in my tracker since his win at Leopardstown.

Was on him at 34/1 on the Exchange also though and I’m a bit fuming with Lordan to be honest. He rode the horse as a sacrificial lamb to be beaten imo and the horse is just world class so kept going. Can’t believe he was still hanging on at the end after his Jockey sent him on 5f from home.

He’s the best of the front 3 imo if he’s ever given a proper ride to show it.

C river used up a lot of petrol in getting upsides his stable companions. I assume he heads to the eclipse where we will learn more about him. Hawk mountain ran a cracker as did montreal. Where they go next is anyboys guess. Surprised none of the french jocks seen this coming. Montreal and hawk mountain were always going to be forward. I assume they thought ryan would be mid division so would have to pass a good few horses. We wont know how good the race is until later in the season.

Think the margins may have flattered the 2nd and 3rd a little given CR’s wide draw and how much ground Ryan decided to give away before finally joining the rest of the field but I think Montreal would benefit most by a step up to 12F and could even by their St Leger horse.

LD73, I think if Lordan holds onto his horse until the straight, CR never passes him.

GM23 – He doesn’t have the speed of CR, I think if he held onto him for longer CR would have beaten him further as it would have turned more into a speed test so he thought the only way to win was to drag the speed out of them given that Montreal’s two runs as a two year old were over 1m whilst the first time CR went further than 7F was at Chester last time out.

CR still has an entry in the St James’s Palace and Aidan has spoken that he believes he has the speed to drop back to 1m whilst Montreal holds an Irish St Leger entry and with him being by Sea The Stars out of a dam that has a lot relations that have won over 2m on the flat and over hurdles I would expect to see him progress more as he goes up in trip.

I doubt the margin flattered hawk mountain tbh

He was also drawn wide in 11

Was a bit dissapointed CR didnt win with a bit more authority

Slightly farcical race with the front 3 being in front all the way round

He was a good winner but it wasnt the performance of a superstar as connections i am sure will make out

Hes this weeks best ever no doubt

“LD73, I think if Lordan holds onto his horse until the straight, CR never passes him”

Thats the risk with backing bigger odds ballydoyle horses im afraid. Only 2 of them are usually trying the others are sacrificed to give their better fancied stablemates the best chance of winning.

Pleased he won and didn’t need saver bets after all. It sounds like. Sounded like they may skip the eclipse and take it easy and have Arc de triomphe aim for Autumn

They better hope for a dry Autumn – if the ground is anything like last year he won’t get home. I would have thought that the Juddmonte/Irish Champion/Champion Stakes would be the obvious races for him if they want to give him a break.

I think people got a little carried way with the visual performance of his Chester win and thus might view today’s performance as a little underwhelming – I think he is a good horse but will undoubtedly be another one added to the list of those heavily burdened by Aidan’s hyperbole.

I also wouldn’t lose faith in the very inexperienced Daryzan who was hopelessly positioned on the inside rail at the back but ran on to be 7th beaten just 3L….he would have learned an awful lot today but given the abundance of stars Graffard has at 10-12F he might be difficult to place.
