CAS,
As I see it the reasons are:Whereas good-soft is the target for Jump racing because if they target good ground it will sometimes turn out to be too hard ie genuine good-firm…
On the flat – although good-firm is no problem – if they aim for good-firm ground then it will sometimes turn out to be too hard. ie genuine firm.

April 15, 2023 at 13:55 #1643777Time of first race suggests Good on Mildmay Chases course.
Has been slower over Hurdles all week so guessing Good to Soft until there’s time evidence from today.
Grand National course?
We shall see!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 15, 2023 at 14:16 #1643787Incredible how quickly it has dried out. My local cricket club (not very far from Aintree) has had to abandon its opening fixture because of a waterlogged pitch.
April 15, 2023 at 14:23 #1643789“Stuck record alert: why is racing breeding horses more and more for pure speed but obsessed with only allowing them to run on artificially slow ground? Doesn’t anyone apart from me and Mr Davies not see the glaring contradiction?”
