its easy to leave him out of calculations…because, given the market, its time to make a decision
HE longer than BI despite comfortable win
I still believe that DC could prove to be an exceptional hurdler but the 5/1 HE has to be taken

Think he’s great value at current BF odds..
No one else see the irony in a poster called Salselon thinking Harchibald is a good bet :)
Spot on Aidan,
"fresh" horse won yesterday, give Brace Inca a little break, Macs Joy another prep and there will be very little between em come March
January 29, 2007 at 17:22 #36821Empty…i think you need to take heed of dessie hughe’s comments. (which may have been supported by the market)
The fittest horse finished second

Though I still can’t believe he did it , Hardy Eustace beat Brave Inca at his own game yesterday, and I can see no possible reason why it won’t be the same come the festival. Three times BI came at him, and 3 times he beat him off.
Up until the race yesterday, I was convinced that Hardy Eustace would never be a factor in the Champion Hurdle again, I was obviously wrong, but it also puts Detroit City in a different perspective.
He beat HE fair and square at Cheltenham, off a pace that inconvenienced both equally, and the pounds/lengths handicappers that decry the form because of the proximity of Crow Wood need to think again, imo.
Both principals are strong galloping types, so the way they surged away from the nippier Crow Wood in the sprint up the straight says much more about the class gulf than the 10l distance could ever do justice to.
I see no justifiable reason, slow pace apart, to suspect that either horse ran below form that day, and with DC having more scope to better that run, he thoroughly deserves his place at the head of the market.
Imo, of course.
One horse had two "no" races, one horse had given it’s all previously and one horse was FTO
I don’t think i need a trainer to tell me anything
January 29, 2007 at 17:34 #36824Hady Eustace had not raced anything until yesterday and you saw the result,
forget the run behind DC
That race is not worth jack sh1te

EW
It’s difficult to argue against that kind of logic???;)
Stick to reading formbook wrong way up mate instead of trying to take p**s

January 29, 2007 at 20:12 #36827Clutching at Straw?
What the feck are you on about trackside, HE is fav to win CH imo, but for anyone to write off BI or Macs Joy on yesterdays race is just foolish as Aidan has rightly said
Different day, different race as they say

January 29, 2007 at 20:23 #36828Ahh, with yer trackside, my apologies
I’m not sure about that, don’t forget BI has been running his races whereas imo,up to yesterday HE hadn’t so he was "fresher" than BI and Macs Joy needed it.
i think Macs Joy will just fall short but you could argue that when all horses go to Chelters "fresh" there would not be yesterday distances between em and as Aidan sort of says it may come down to how they all jump the last hurdle

January 29, 2007 at 20:24 #36829EW…apart from the fact that you clearly think DC is a "nothing" horse, do you really think its worthwhile ignoring dessie hughes assessment of HE?
January 29, 2007 at 20:26 #36830Clive
I tend to not listen to ANY trainer or jockey tbh, taking what they say with a pinch of salt and form my OWN opinions on what i read in the formbook, see on TV
January 29, 2007 at 20:28 #36831So if Nichols or king said "such and such needed the race"…you would ignore that?
Come on now…

BTW, surely you rate Lounaos a good thing in the Triumph..

Not a race i’ve really looked at trackside tvh, but on yesterdays run you’d probably say so
No Clivex, you come on
Do not treat me like a fecking muppet, as stated i use the formbook and my eyes
January 29, 2007 at 20:37 #36834Everytime Azertyuiop got beat by Moscow he seemed to "need the run"….
