Ladbrokes don’t do their own summaries – the copy for both errors originates from the same source, which will probably be a member of PA staff or a freelancer working for the PA.

July 7, 2010 at 00:42 #305137HRI to delay publication of 2010 fixture list
By Jessica Lamb 6:35PM 6 JUL 2010HORSE Racing Ireland is to delay the publishing of next year’s fixture list until September as it waits to see how impending legislation will affect the sport’s funding.
. . . .
For 2010, read 2011.
January 7, 2011 at 13:50 #334962Racing for Change have changed Trainer names’ to be now shown in full.
These guys are dangerous and don’t know what they are doing.
January 7, 2011 at 23:47 #335053A runner yesterday. PUN 16:55.
Is it :
AD IDEM – ( Declaration PR )
AD IDEM (GB) – ( Database RP and RI )
AD IDEM (IRE) – ( Declaration and Database SportingLife )Answer – ALL OF THEM.
Legal Definition :
in agreementExample :
The parties were ad idem on this important point.Runs again tomorrow at PUN 11:45.
SportingLife now have this runner as AD IDEM.
Now in agreement with the RP.
At the Races is now AD IDEM (GB).
However on the SL database, the links to AD IDEM (IRE) previous runs ( 8 runs ) are lost.Perhaps "Racing for Change" should be spending their efforts in fixing thing that are not in agreement or broken.

Huge problems with this project – what a mess.
Official statement "…..changes could be on-going for some time yet."
January 12, 2011 at 17:05 #335577I’m confused;
Surely change is ongoing cos that’s what makes it change? If it’s not ongoing we have the status quo, which isn’t change?
Managed change, with clearly defined objectives, is what is required.
"Change is ongoing" really means ‘we’re dicking about with stuff, with no real idea of what we’re doing or why’.

I see Ron Harris is now Ronald Harris – are trainers being asked which version of their first name they prefer?
January 13, 2011 at 00:27 #335644I can’t decide, Tuffers, but I’m erring on the side of them not having been. Has anyone other than his nearest and dearest ever refered to him as
Michael
Easterby for ye long, for example?
And as pointed out on another thread the other day, some trainers’ prefered names, especially nicknames, are being omitted outright ("Aytach Sadik" as opposed to his prefered "Jeff", for example).
That Lawney Hill continues to be recorded by her shortened first name of "Lawney" rather than the full "Trelawney" suggests some inconsistencies of practice may already lurk, though.

January 16, 2011 at 12:09 #336221Sporting Life.
Shows Nicky Henderson with no data. Still using N J Henderson.
At the Races.
( Same as Sporting Life )
Racing Post.
No N J Henderson data. All data now with Nicky Henderson.
The Name change was initiated by RFC on 6th January.
Nice to see that after 11 days we are all AD IDEM.January 16, 2011 at 12:32 #336228Sporting Life.

I’d not expect anything too soon since the jockeys have not changed yet and I noticed that changed Aug last year in the RP (and I’m not that observant so it could have been earlier still).
January 25, 2011 at 19:44 #337628Well, however you found out about him, he won a beginner’s chase at Navan today. It was pretty comfortable – even if he eased off like anything at the end!
Sorry for going o/t on this.

So don't run, just like the others always do
February 3, 2011 at 12:04 #338913Well done AD IDEM (MARS)
It would be lovely to finish with this win.
But BH this gets worseAmmended new style for Tom McLaughlin.
Old style T. McLaughlin.SportingLife use T McLaughlin.
Racing Post use Thomas McLaughlin.
At the Races use T McLaughlin
Raceform Interactive use Tom McLaughlin. This ammended name change was issued on 19th January 2011.
There are at least four different versions of this name.
This is just one example and is only the "tip of a huge iceberg". WTFIGO.RacingSense have.
A P MCCOY
A P MCCOY(3)
A P MCCOY(5)
A P MCCOY(7)
and most used is MCCOY A P.
FB.April 22, 2011 at 11:20 #351549I have to give credit to RI for their announcement regarding a change in Horse Name. Well Done.
"Please note that a horse called Sunny King (IRE), that has been entered in the Golden Jubilee Stakes on June 18th this year, was formerly known as Kingsgate Prince (IRE.)
The records have been merged but all the runs under the original name now show up under the new name in RI. The reason is that the horse was sold to Hong Kong, after which it was given a new name.
Kingsgate Prince (IRE) was previously trained in this country by John Best, winning five times in 2006."
April 22, 2011 at 16:01 #351593I’m baffled as to why Bravo Echo is continually referred to as Brave Echo.
August 1, 2013 at 11:46 #447202I stumbled accross this post by accident but I have a useful reply, I hope. The problem with all the different Jockey names has been around for a while. It made it very hard to run queries looking at Jocket performance. I run a large program on the data in the Racingsense database every week or so to try and convert them to a standard form:- Surname Title Initials. It can’t be done locally on the database as it needs a bit of human intervention on the logic. Customers can download an up-to-date database including the changes, whenever they want.
