How will Emily handle the track? Does the big mare’s spin in Meydan in March offer any indication either way
November 2, 2024 at 17:46 #1711548Brian Meehan just feels like the kind of trainer that would come over and get it done. Who knows how much more there is to come from Jayarebe stepping up in trip. If there is improvement there he’s a big chance. Still a question mark though.
Can’t knock the form of EMILY’S last run but she’s just been a bit too untrustworthy this year and the vast majority of that is against her own sex.
I can see her getting closer to REBELS ROMANCE this time round zilzal, she was coming back from a layoff and RR was race fit, the way it was run really suited a match fit horse.Jayarebe and Fair point for me.
November 2, 2024 at 20:43 #1711574I don’t know if Emily Upjohn is such a good bet at around 9/2, considering the fact she didn’t win in six races this season. But, she’d still be a class act in this race.
However I went for the O’Brien pair with the higher stake on Luxembourg.
Gold Phoenix 66/1 would be one for the show.November 2, 2024 at 21:10 #1711580Shades of the Oaks again for Emily there. Nothing would’ve touched her tonight had she gotten a better run at it.
Meehans horses have run stinkers tonight.

In the early part of the race I thought, “What is he doing?? Oh dear, Buick must be getting run away with, what a pity the horse got lit up, oh well” but to kick again in the straight and then manage to hang on was impressive.November 2, 2024 at 21:14 #1711583Doesn’t look good for Jayarebe.
November 2, 2024 at 21:15 #1711584If City of Troy does THAT in the next race I will eat a pie shop full of humble pie.
November 2, 2024 at 21:16 #1711585Fingers crossed for Jayarebe – said he collapsed on track
November 2, 2024 at 21:16 #1711586“Doesn’t look good for Jayarebe.”
Oh…watching on my little phone screen. What happened?
Edit- X post. Oh dear. After the race? Poor chap.
